Now I dont want this to turn into a god damn flame war.

I am going to pick up one of the two.

My questions to those well informed.

Online play, I know ps3 is free but is it as good as the 360 also how much is the 360 online play and is it worth it for racing games?

What one in your opinon has better features and what are they. I know i could just look at the two side by side but i want customers opinons on the features rather then just reading what the two can do ya know?

Im hard core sony but i would go 360 honestly better games better comunity but the only reason to get a PS3 would be for blue ray but again its losing to HD witch the 360 can do with an add on. Heck you get a gold member ship when you pick up the 360 even so you really dont have to pay for much and they even dropped there prices so just get a 360. Its worth it alone for just X-Box live and the gamer scores and plus 90% of oz is on there sigh im left out till christmas

I have to agree, I'm a hard-core Sony guy, I've had a PS1, a launch PS2, and another PS2 when my first one died. I will probably go 360 when I get ready to buy....everybody has them and I think they're better, the only real downside being having to pay for online usage.

Agreed also ^^

Although you may or may not get one of the defective xbox 360's they are on warranty. AND the customer service for it is phenomenal, they really treat you like you matter.

And yeah you get free live when you pick up an xbox. and its like...30 dollars for a membership card for 1 or 3 months...i dont remember. But the only game i would get the PS3 for is Desert storm (or w/e the racing game is), I use to be a hardcore sony fan...but the 360 quickly changed my mind. HECK you can hook the 360 to a computer screen and have high def gaming. =D

I've got both. 360 sits idly by as the PS3 takes all the 1080p glory.

Online community of 360 rocks like none other. If you are really looking for a console to revolve around online gameplay you cannot pass up what the 360 does.

And for under $5 a month... It is worth it. Racing games, depends on what game you play. I have a few and they are great online. You can get into fierce competition or just chill and have a fun race with your buds.

I will say nothing more than I was in your position and have played both, put games on both systems and played on the same TVs, 360 takes it in every category. I am a man who settles for nothing but the best, hence $4000 in Iceled, and a 360 sits hooked to my big screen, not a PS3.

Can't go wrong with 360's game lineup, then add Halo 3 in 24 days, nuff said.

Buy a PS3 if you want blu-ray. That is the only reason to buy it. 360, I will settle to not upset the hardcore sony fans, is even in the graphics department. Although it smokes PS3 in features, online community and game lineup.

xbox is obviously going to get the majority of the votes but look into the future of a console.. 360 has been around a year before ps3 so obviously they will have more support. more games. more owners etc. Ps3 with the upcoming Home will revolutionize the ps3 online community. Some titles like MGS4 are enough incentive alone to get it. Ps3 yes its more expensive but you get what you pay for

I say go with the PS3. The potential upside is huge. They just released firmware overseas that gives the PS3 DVR capabilities. It shouldn't be long before the DVR ability hits the states. Not only is the PS3 a gaming console, but it can also be a complete entertainment system. Also if you buy and 80GB now you receive Motorstorm and at least 3 free Blu-Ray movies will the possibility to receive 8 free Blu-Ray movies.

Instead of taking our word for the systems, go out and experience the system for yourself.

I don't think you will be disappointed by the purchase of either system.

Yeah the only way you can decide is to play both and see which one you like better. MGS4 get's the thumbs down. Splinter Cell series beats the crap outta that game. If you like FPS's, Brick, then you have to get a 360. Right when Halo 3 comes out Xbox 360 sales will skyrocket, especially with the lowered prices the sheer amount of people who waited until Halo 3 to buy a 360 is crazy icon_eek.gif

My room mate has both of them. The 360 gets most of the use. XBox live is only $50 a year. For the amount of money I've seen people spend on this site, $50 is nothing. Pretty much the only time anyone touches the PS3 is to watch movies. If you want a really expensive DVD player, go for the PS3. If I was to buy one, I would buy a 360.

**If you get the "red ring of death" you send the 360 back, wait, and get it returned. Microsoft pays EVERYTHING! All you have to do is pack it in the box they provide and put it in the mail.

also the time u get it back might be close to around a month later..... people are going to experience when they buy their halo 3 that more playing time will be put onto the 360 making it more likely to fry and get the red ring of death... then customers will be sending their 360 in and getting it a month later.

I'd say get a 360, but the only downsides really are the heating problems so if your a hardcore gamer you better watch out I know 3 people that have had to send back there 360's to get them fixed because they got burned out, plus 360 has a better community like everyone said. PS3 I would not say is worth 500 or 600 or 400 however much it costs nowadays, because I know a guy that gets 360's for around 20 dollars more than what Sony makes them for. He told me he gets them for around $290 each. and he sells them $430 each so that means Sony only pays 270 dollars to have each one made sooner or later the PS3 price is going to drop to probably 400 or 350. So if you really want a PS3 wait buy the 360 now and play Halo 3? icon_razz.gif Also bout the 'red ring of death' it says if it flashes 3 times then you send it back well I was at my buddies house playing WWE on his 360 the 'red ring of death' flashed more than 10 times lol.

I got my 360 back in 2 weeks. As I said, new 360's are equipped to NEVER get the ring anymore. Old ones, well you run the risk of buying used, but again, it's free to fix if you do run into that problem. And they are pretty speedy about it. Me and my friend both got the ring, and both got ours back in 2 or less weeks. Because the pre-paid shipping is 2 day to them, and 2 day back to you. So just getting in the fix line and getting it done is the little wait time icon_smile.gif

It's only free if it's under warranty. (I think it expires like a year after purchase.) My buddies is already past warranty. So he's stuck with a broke assed Xbox.

PS3 ftw

He must not know about the new upgraded warranty then huh? Microsoft extended the warranty to 3 years ON EVERY XBOX EVER MADE and agreed to REFUND every cent they took for fixing ring of death 360's. Which means EVERY XBOX IN EXISTENCE is covered until I think November of next year. Tell him to call up 18004myxbox, they will get his info and send him his box.

Xbox 360 FTW, tell your buddy to get it crackin, he IS under warranty and can get it fixed for free, that is, if he is getting the Ring of Death.

Graphics are the same, you cannot say either one trumps the other. They beat each other back and forth it evens out. I know, I have played both on the same TV, same game. IMO when I played both Xbox 360 looked wayy better. But I will say graphics are about the same in the goodness of my heart to not start a war. icon_smile.gif

ok, this is a debate....

i vote 360...

ps3 can get firmware hacks, but 360 you can just put a chip in and play dvr.
More people own 360's.... more online players
ps3 has lesser games than 360
and #1.... yes, ps3 came out a year later, but everyone bought the 360 first so then many didn't/won't buy the ps3 (so the 360 will/has won this round)

essentially, it will be your decision.... I'm just saying more people currently and in the future will own more 360's so there will be more parts/games/etc. for them.

Yeah, I was reading in GameInformer than sony is losing like 150-200 on every unit. May not be that bad now, but they were at one point.

I have my WiiS3, and I love it. I play them both ALL the time, and couldn't be happier.

My PS3 has died on me three times ... thank goodness I paid for the exchange warranty ... it doesn't appear to like riding in the car ... I took it out of the car and put my launch date ps2 back in ...My 360 has been flawless since bought ...same with the Wii

Now that I think about it, I think if my Xbox 360 imploded and melted - I would rather play the original xbox instead of a PS3. Call me nuts, but I won't support sony - any way, shape, or form.
