need suggestions on building switch box

I would like to build a switch box for preferebly this area in my car:



now here are my two ideas for where it would go outlined in blue



or this one might be harder to do

Now preferrably I would like to make a plexiglass or lexan cover for this area. I would like to put a couple led's behind it to light it up. I don't know how many switches but most likey 4 or 5. I want to do this when i get the fusion kit. btw i have my current switches ghetto rigged underneath the ash tray everytime i take the ash tray out the switches fall down. i just put the switches under the ash tray when i put it in.

I say put them in your console above the shifter.

i am contemplating on whether i should put my switches in like this guy did on his nissan 200sx (2 door version of sentra) only reason why i don't want to do this if i were to sell the car.
