ok i want to purchase the xenon bulbs from phil. only thing keeping me back is the fact that my bulbs right now are rated at 65/45 watts and they are 9004 bulbs. i posted this question in maxima's i30 forum for my car and they said that it might short out my wiring harness. now i dont want that to happen, cause only bad can come furthermore from that. so is there a way to upgarde my wiring harness, to be able to do 90 watts, with keeping the same bulb mount size?

Just cut your existing connectors and splice those on. Took me about 15 mins. Make sure to make it weatherproof since they will be by your headlights. (shrink tubing should do it)

I would always just use the same size bulbs....but I keep things safe. If there's a safe way to do it I'd say go for it.

There is a guy I just met who has some real nice APC HID headlights on his eclipse. Standard size is 9003, but he has H4's which fit the same. The HID's are like 115 watt where as stock is like 55 or 65 watt. He hasn't had any problems...

Yeah isn't real high intensity discharged (HID) bulbs around 5 or 10 watts?
The other stuff is Xenon, which you can get some good bulbs, but nothing like the HID stuff. |

Real HIDs are 35 watts. FakeIDs are usually 90+ watts

well yeah, they are Xenon, but the point I was trying to make is that they are 100 or so watts and he didn't need a wireing harness change out.. he just plugged them in the normal stock harness with no problems..

well i would have done the same thing. im gonna call my closest infiniti dealer and ask them. i mean the harness' may be rated to do higher wattages, its jjust the fact that it could cause more problems than id wanna deal with. i could always justupgarde if there are any doubts
