What I want to do is put like 5 or 6 blue LEDs in one part of my headlight, and 5 or 6 red LEDs in a part next to it, then hooked up to a switch, have them flash, blue, then red, kinda like a cop car. I know this is major illegal, but I'm not going to be doing this while I'm driving or anything. Just when I'm with my friends at our houses and stuff. I was wondering if there was a way to wire something up so that I could flip a switch one way, then have the blue LEDs light up, then the red LEDs light up after the blue go off, kinda like a delay between the two.

you mean like a strobe setup? what you can do is buy a strobe kit and get the color cover thingys...get a blue and get a red and that will work perfectly fine...as you already know that is Extremly illegal..so watch ya self

My buddy made it and it clicks every time your lights alternate. You can use transistors to quiet it, but I have never gotten around to really putting a schematic for the transistors. Sorry |

Whelen's are 130 dollars. LEDs are 99 cents, lol. That's why. It looks pretty cool from what I've seen. I'll post pics tomarrow. I shined a blue and red LED in each light, to simulate what it'll look like.

www.sickness.hostrocket.com/PDRM0401.jpg www.sickness.hostrocket.com/PDRM0399.jpg One of them is with the blue and the red, and the other is with just the red. Picture the blue and red strobeing, in alternate, or w/e. |

just use a wig wag like in the link I posted or the one that is in the diagram section. It'll click, but you can hide it.

Hmm..that's pretty cool. Could it make like 4 sets of LEDs alternate? Like blue on each side..then red...then blue..then red? How much does one cost too?

My only problem is where to install them i think it would look stupid in the headlights since it is clear not blured. Does anyone have pics of there whelens how they look installed? Sickness takes some pics of what angle you install the leds in the turnsignal for me. Thanks.

ahhh thank you just what i wound up doing, now they are ready to be installed, well besides the fact that i need a switch lol. whats the best way to run wires from the engine to the central control panel u know with radio etc?
im guessing there are holes int he firewall right and put wires through there? j/a because if it involves going under my car i cant do it no jack stands or ramps |

I'd say hook it up to a fuse? I wouldn't go though the firewall and to the battery. It looks kind of sloppy if you ask me. I'm no election genius either though.

wait.. u have the infinity... right? i think i remember ur car... if you have any warranty on it, don't to thru the fuse box... it's too risky if anything happens that's what they'll pin the blame on... that goes to headlight harness frying, to dome lights, to radio, to ac...

Yeah, probably not good to do something like that under warranty. That or drilling a hole in your firewall wouldn't be good I don't think. Try pushing wires through existing holes maybe. I made the mistake of drilling a hole. Hopefully a dealership won't really notice it if I ever decide to sell my car, heh.

Dealer ships dont exactly look for holes drilled. most are to small or there is enough stuff clutered around it for them not to see it.

they look for problems if there's an electrical problem... not otherwise. just like they don't car about what transmission fluid or oil you use untill somthing blows... they they send it off for analysis before they fit the bill...

i live in bergen county.
yeah its the infiniti but yeah i wasnt planning on putting it into the fuse box, that is gonna stay stock, i got fuse holders from radio shack holds 4 so im gonna try and put that somewhere not sure where though cause alot of metal is exposed. if i were to drill a hole it would be above like the grommet or below it that goes to your hu ac u know. so i dont bs wires going though u know. cause thats where my switch pnal prob gonna go. i try to make what i do look professional you know im neat and organized |

I thought about wireing my switchs and LEDs and cathodes and stuff into my fuse box, but all my friends who have done that lost their radio. It doesn't work at all anymore, so I guess that's a pretty good reason not to mess with it.

eh...at 1.59 a piece, it'd be cheaper to just buy a couple red and blue ones, plus, I can give some money to Phil too. Even if they are more than the blinking ones, I gotta stick with Oznium.
