Well, because if the idea of a WOMAN president sends all the male chauvinists into fits, and the idea of a BLACK president makes all the redneck asswipes froth at the mouth, then a WOMAN/BLACK ticket might just make a sizable chunk of the population (read as: the ones that got good ol' Dubbya re-elected, sending us deeper into the never-ending **** pile that is the Middle East) drop dead of a massive stroke.

I can only pray...

Let's face it... After 8 years of the Republican Party's gross (I'd go so far as to say criminal) mismanagement of every facet of our government, from foreign policy to illegal wire-tapping to encroaching of the government into out civil rights (Torture? The Patriot Act?) there's simply no way that a moderate candidate will ever be able to get elected or to run the country in the partisan hell that will be 2008-2012. All we can hope for is someone with enough idealism and/or shrewd political acumen that can SURVIVE the next 4 years, and hopefully help to begin extracting us from Iraq in that time. Hillary, as much as I think the woman is a manipulative bee-yotch, certainly has the political chops and a years-old political machine to bolster her, and Obama has the idealism, the kind that gets people fired up (especially young people) in ways I've not seen in many years...

Of course, things are already starting to get so nasty in this election cycle that, IMHO, I'm starting to think that Obama's best bet at this point is to NOT get the Presidential nomination next year, but instead to hold out for 2012 or 2016... That way, the poor sucker gets handed the Iraq debacle (and who's poliical career is ruined by association) can bow out, opening the door for Obama to step in with clean(er) hands... We'll see.

Basically, I'm sick of anyone that says with a straight face that a person's religion or skin color or even what they have down the front of their pants makes ANY DIFFERENCE to how poorly or well they can govern. After all, if that mattered, then a WHITE PROTESTANT MALE that thinks he gets DIRECTIONS STRAIGHT FROM GOD would be the perfect leader.... Well, I hate to tell you, but we have that now, and, well... things ain't perfect. Honestly, if you're not COMPLETELY **** OFF then you're siimply not paying attention.

Maybe it's time to see how a woman or a black man can lead, because white guys ain't cutting the mustard lately, not by a damn sight...

So your voting for her because shes a woman? LOL

As long as you don't want to own home protection, and you want to pay for all the lazy ass'ed ghetto thugs that would rather sleep till 5 pm and collect a government check that YOU are paying for, your voting for the right person. And thats only the beginning, who knows how many other Constitutional Rights she will try and take away.

Dude, that argument is so old... Please. We had Clinton the MAN for 8 years, and we had a balanced budget WITH A SURPLUS at the end of it, and I never had to pack a gun under my pillow. Now things are arguably WORSE in all areas (Americans dying in a "quagmire" that even CHENEY predicted during Bush Senior's watch, a deficit so large that my grandkids will still be paying it off when THEY have to work, an adminstration that spends their time defending the same "enhanced interogation" techniques that the frickin' ***** wrote papers about, thereby damaging the USA's reputation in the eyes of the rest of the world), etc. It's simply time for them to go.

So, yeah... If it **** ignorant people that can only live in fear to have a woman (or a black man with ideals) on the ballot, yep. I'll enjoy watching the veins throb in people's foreheads for a few months and maybe, just maybe, if she gets elected than Rush will stroke out (( stares dreamily into space )). Zealots of all stripes get to froth during elections, and in this you're no better (or worse) than far-left doomsayers, I suppose, but the yammering is still just noise.

I swear to God I am so tired of the knee-jerk, ignorant appeals to people's fears during election cycles. Shame on you, Pork...

Somebody's not racist/sexist. icon_rolleyes.gif Voting for Hilary because she's female is sexist. Voting for Obama because he's black is racist. If you don't believe me, go look up the definition of racism and sexism.
Personally, I'm going to vote on where the candidates stand on issues. I don't care about their gender or the color of their skin.

Thank you.

Now that if that HAPPENS to be a black man or a white woman I don't think that anyone has the right to chastise me about it.

We can all agree that ANYONE....even god damned Lassie would be a better president than the monkey we have now... Well....the CO-Presidency we have now.... Fun with **** and friends.

Honestly, what constructive use do you have for a semi-automatic rifle or a 15 round chamber? Is that use important enough to you to let them be legal for people that are on the streets to have.

Just something to think about, no offense intended.

The thing is they can ban them but people on the street still have them, but now we cant get them to defend our selves unless we want to do it illegally.

A lot of people use rifles for constructive things. Most of the times they're used for hunting or recreational range shooting. Most guns that are used in crime are illegally owned in the first place. Making them illegal would only take them out of the law abiding citizens' hands.

I guess I can agree with that. I can't imagine that if I was going to use a gun illegally that I would obtain it Legally. Mainly because my name would be associated with it.

For the record, Stephen Colbert just threw his hat in.

He's running as a Republican as well as a Democrat. biglaugh.gif

This should be interesting.

There was a statictic that all the guns that clinton ban, only 11% of them were used in crime.

A criminal can't conceal an AK-47. They can easily conceal a pistol. It's not the guns that should be controlled, it's the criminals.

I have a two semi-auto rifles with high capacity mags. My AK holds 40 which is nice. If you've gone shooting, it gets annoying reloading after every ten shots.

And when clinton did make the 10 round magazine law, the only people with 10 round magazines were the law abiding citizens. It was the 11% of criminals using "assult" rifles with the 30+ round mags.

Gun control doesn't protect you from criminals. Guns do.

Hahha, I was also watching the Colbert report tonight..... Yet another Liberal jumps into the ring..... How long before this turns into the California election???? lets see how many candidates can declare!!!!

I think the primaries are going to be very interesting..... Hillary and Obama have the money, but I think they will spend it all bashing each other, opening the way for the rest of the candidates..... My personal opinion is they are going to focus too much on each other and not the issues, Obama certainly has been doing this in the last few weeks, see if Hillary follows...... I think Obama is going to get killed in the primaries, should be interesting to see where Hillary ends up....

I would vote for a women or a black man, I would NOT vote for Hillary or Obama. Obama is not experienced enough in my opinion, and I disagree with Hillary on numerous issues....

I don't consider myself a republican, and I definately agree this presidential tenure has done some aweful things.

But as far as my vote, Fred Thompson is in the lead for me..... Lots of time for that to change, We shall see what happens once the primaries begin and we start to get a better look at the issues....

Unlike some people i have seen on here i watched the debates. The other night i caught the republican national debate. to me Romney stood out as the best possible canidate. Rudy is also one of my top picks but it is well know he will never be a republican canidate due to his pro-choice stance. If he ran independent he would have the best shot. John McCain is one of the most worthless sacks of **** i have seen yet (that is all i can say on him). Looking at left side Clinton is the pick that would have the most devistating effects on this country. Im all for everyone having healt care but a universal healthcare system would be a disaster in this country. Taxes would go way up, standard of living would go down, doctors would not be making the wages they have to motivage them thought med school which would lower health care standards, and I would be making more **** trips to the trailer park in the ambulance for the "sick" feeling all these title 19 and wellfare money suckers have. If clinton wins im moving to mexico at least i might find a decent doctor down there. Other wise Obama looks like a OK pick from the little i have seen yet. Edwards has no respect in my eyes after selling out and running with Kerry last election ( I liked him but it amazed me how fast he changed his ideals and became Kerrys buddy) to shady for me. That is all i will be waiting for replies.

I think it's funny as **** personally....I'd love to see him in one of the debates....just to stick it to all these ass-kissers that are running.... All of them are, and there isn't anything we can do about it. They all want to kiss the ass of the American public so we'll vote for them.

the only one running who gives a **** about the second ammendment and realised how vitaly important it is to our freedom is Fred Thompson

he gets my vote any day

all the rest of them want to take your guns

remember the only thing keeping our government in our best interest and keeping it from being a tyrany is the second ammendment, if that goes our freedom goes

Cobert is seriously running for President? Can he really win? I think he would be a pretty good president.
