okay, i found a nice chaser kit that i blew my money on. icon_eek.gif now i got some questions.. it comes with 8 leds, but these are just your car alarm led, i wanted to hook something up so that i could use more leds, and phills leds that are actually bright.. hehe. at first i was just going to replace the leds that come with it with the ones phill has, but as i look or the schematics i see that thiers a whole other place that can be used to hook up more lights.. thiers a circuit B1-B8 that can be used for 1-12 watts at 12 volts.. so thats where im stuck.. i dont want to use a light bulb, i want to use leds.. but since i already have a problem with leds in series and parallel im not to clear what i should do to get this kit to be working correctly. any help would be greatly apreciated..

here are the schematics in PDF form.. on page 3 it shows a connection diagram of the lightbulbs and so forth.. Please help! sleeping.gif

i would just use phil's resistor and wire with the 12v... 1 led, 1 resistor.

did you look at the schematics? are you talking about replacing the led circuit with phills leds, or do you mean using phills leds on the b1-b8 circuit? cuz it'd kinda be nice to work with the b1-b8s.. leds down both sides of the interior of my car.. would be a nice effect.. and could i run those parallel to each other? like 2 leds per circuit? like 2 on b1, 2 on b2, and so forth.. and when would i hit the limmit that i would need to use heat sinks or whatever they say in the diagram? thanks again.

Take a look at this layout 10 channel LED chaser well the actual board you can put these boards in series and if I understand you correctly it maybe what your looking for. Also check out the LED's you can use with it forget about the dim color LED's you can use the clear bright LED's with it.

thanks flystrat, but i already purchased a kit.. im asking how you hook up more to one kit then what it is using.. i know its do able, im just not sure how to go about it, if you look at the pdf on page 3 it shows how to hook up lightbulbs on circuit b1-b8.. i want to install phills leds in thier instead. and a series of them if possible, or parallel to each other. which ever may work.

you'd have to test the voltage if you want to replace the led circuit with phil's led's... if it's about the required votage... go for it....

otherwise, you'd need to hook it up to the 12v standard (the one for the light bulbs) with an led and resistor...
