hey -- maybe this is a repost, but... oh well.

ive got nice, clean, clear headlight housings (fogs too!)... i want to install a couple LED's in each. ive seen it done before, but im just wondering how to make it look kosher (the light distribution) without makin my pretty housings look like butt.

i just did this.. i put 2 red leds into my headlights.. its not that hard.. remove the housing and drill from the top, i did one on each side of the light bulb.. make it big enough so the top of the led can fit into it. once you have the hole, you want to put your leds in. I constructd a harnass for mine, so i just attached the end of the harnass to the battery so i could see what i was working with.. after i sled the led into the hole, i stuck my finger into the housing through the light hole and sorta aimed the leds backwards, that way you will be shining your light onto the reflector thats in the back of your housing, which should spread the light evenly.. work with it untill you get the desired look you're going for. Once you have that done, use a silcon chaulking or a hot glue gun and make sure that thiers no way any air or vapor can get in through the hole. we dont want condesation on the inside of the headlights.. you might want to make a quick connect close to the headlight, so if you have to remove a headlight you can just unplug the leds, I didn't do that, but i left enough slack that i can pull out my housing and acces the back if i need to change a light or something.

Heres a picture of mine. good luck, and make sure you cant see the leds when they're off in the headlight. thats not too pretty. icon_redface.gif

if it's on the top you won't see it unless you duck down and look into the fixture...
