So I think I have skin cancer. I'm hoping it's Basal cell carcinoma, which is the most common and most easily treatable kind of skin cancer. It's symptoms are pretty right on to what I have. If I do have this Basal cell carcinoma and even if it is easily treatable I'm still kind of scared.

It doesn't make sense though. I don't have light skin. I don't spend a lot of time out in the sun. And the effected area is on my back, and I pretty much always have a shirt on. I never go to the beach or tan.

I might have cancer. icon_sad.gif

Why? You have freaky moles or something?

I have some freaky bright red moles on my back but they are just vascular, not cancerous.

See a doc.

It's described as a sore that doesn't heal and sometimes will itch and have a sticky waxy feel to it. I'm almost positive I have it. I've had this "dry skin" for about a month now and I've applied lotion to it everyday and it still hasn't gone away. I'm going to get it checked out today.

I'm going to the doctor on Monday. We'll see.

My girlfriend who's at Michigan right now in the School of Nursing said that if there was any cancer that you had to have, this would be it. It's easily treatable and can, in most cases, be taken care at the doctor's office.

bah, i had skin cancer on my arm. it was a huge ass wart. when they took it off the **** thing had roots! No lie, it was the craziest **** thing i've ever seen.

just get it checked out, and if it is, all they do is numb it and cut it out. takes about 10-15 minutes.

I actually was starting to form Melanoma in my arm. Luckily the doctor saw it when I went in to get prescription deodorant haha A few days later I had surgery and they cut it out of my arm. I got to watch the whole thing it was pretty intense. The weird thing is they told me a story of a black musician who had died from it because he couldn't see the mole on his toe while they were cutting open my arm. Didn't freak me out or anything... hah

I used to sweat more than anything. Had to go to the doctor to get some deodorant that you put on at night that burns the hell out of your arms. Helps out a lot actually. I think you can just buy it in most stores now.

Yeah, A girl I was once talking to slipped up and told me about her "special" prescription deodorant for her profuse sweating. Definitely scared me off from wanting to get her excited- could turn into lake placid, if you catch what I'm saying.

a lot of things can happen unexplained when you are overly stressed. you would be amazed by the effects of mental/physical stress on the body.

Also let's stop talking about skin cancer . I'm in southern Cali and I tan regularly . This thread is interfering with my ability to pretend that cancer doesn't exist .

Good news, it's not skin cancer.

It's some weird skin disease though. The doctor said it wasn't anything bad and it should go away in four to six weeks.

Thank God.
