Took about 20 min. I tried using the diagram seen here, done up by mx in this thread: http://www.oznium.com/forum/topic15397
Here's how it's working right now: Parking lights off = LED's off, but flash with turn signal at full brightness (as seen in vid) Parking lights on = LED's constant on at full brightness, no turn signal functionality I want the LED's to be contant on at about half brightness when the parking lights are on, but also with turn signal functionality to full brightness. Is this possible? Did I wire it incorectly? I used a clump of resistors from Radio Shack but they didn't actually do anything to reduce brightness, do I need bigger ones? |

No functionality, just looks kinda cool and I was running the wires anyway cause I'm putting 19" orange strips outside. Thought I'd just see if it worked out before the orange strips arrived.

I just had those lights connected to a separate switch initially, then relayed to the dome, then a friend thought it'd be cool to run them to the turn signals... something different I guess. If I get them working when the parking lamps are on as well I'll probably run the whole thing to an on-off-on, with the other power source being constant 12V, so I have more control over their function.

Well I dunno if it'll work but using an led calculator unit, for the superflux units you'd need an 82ohm resistor to drop the voltage to 8volts which would dim the led's and for the orange flex strips you'd need 22ohms... But you must remember to use diodes as shown in the diagram otherwise you'll get power shortage and have running flashing with highs and highs on with runnings...

Thanks... they're not superfluxes just 5 prewired 5 mm blue LED's... I'll run back to Radio Shack tomorrow and see what I can find, the guy there was so useless... he seemed slightly confused on the exact function of a diode, confusing me further. |

oh ok lol like i said..looks real cool the placement of the LEDs (even though some will hate it for beenin able to see the light source) but give a cool effect..you should maybe wire them so they are on all the time |

Thanks. Like I said, I had that them way before and will continue to have that functionality when I put them through an on-off-on switch. Or I could just leave them how they are after today's install; when the parking lights are on, the blue LED's are on without flashing with the signals. |

oh, I thought you said in the video they were super flux's... For the 5mm prewired I'd say a 470ohm per led line should work... Now I'll say it again tho, I'm not fully sure that will work...
also to clear the air, HERE is a guide on how diodes work... |

Haha. Love the vid. Pretty funny. Don't know why I find it funny or why I laughed but I did. Love the lights and hey it is something different. Something I have never seen before so that is good. Keep it up dude.

Yeah I was talking too fast in the vid, I said "you can use superfluxes but they'd probably be too bright." Thanks though, I'll look for the proper resistors, and thanks for the info on diodes I'll have a look at that too.
Haha it wasn't suppoed to be funny but if it was that's good I guess? |

I'm gonna take off the steering wheel column cover and splice into wires there instead cause now those LED's go on with the brake as well, which was not my intention.

I like it, just be sure to not turn your flashers on if you ever get pulled over.

Got it all worked out with the proper resistors. First half of vid is with the running lamps on, a condition in which the LED's blink from 100% brightness to about 60%. Can't wait for the 19" strips to get here.
Plan on using this [crude] diagram for the exterior strips so that I can turn them off or have them at full brightness at my discretion.

Yes it will work. Since you're doing brake lights get rid of the switch and change the turn signal to brake light. |
