I wanna install 4 LED bulbs (in the housing thingies that you get from behind your instrument cluster) on different corners of the boot (trunk). I already have 1 neon tube that lights up when you open the boot (trunk), and I wanna know if I can (and how!?) install these 4 OTHER LED bulbs, so they point down and lights up when opening, and what wire guage to use and will they dim because of running 5 off 1 connection. Any help appreciated.

welcome to the forums.
to install I would do the same thing you did with the neon. Just split the trunk(boot) light wire and run that to the 4 LED bulbs. 18ga. wire would be more than enough to supply the power to the LED bulbs. then ground the - trermanal on the bulbs . I would assume you could wire the LED bulbs in a series which would eliminate the need to split the + wire 4/5 times and ground 4/5 times. |

unsure what to do.
The person who installed the neon, believes that because the neon is on a continual power source (when you trigger the opening of the boot, it turns on), that connecting 4 more LED bulbs to that neon would draw a total of about 12 watts (?) and might dim each of them. I would like to connect 1 wire to that power source, with a seperate wire to each bulb (because they would be at each corner of the boot). Make sense? HELP! |
