Awhile back when I was trying to sell my JL Audio 12" subs on here
http://www.oznium.com/forum/topic14344-highlight-jl+audio And while taking the Subs and amp to see how much it would cost to get them shipped. I stopped in to grab a bite at McDonalds. WHILE I was waiting for my food inside, someone came up, broke my back window out of my truck, stole the subs, amp, and box. WELL Today there was a kid at my school trying to huck some junk out of his car trunk. I went up and peaked inside, and what do you know...my subs. box, and amp. I asked the kid (mind you hes been known to be in trouble with theft) who he had got them from, and he said he had broken into someones truck and stole them. As soon as he said that I clocked him in the side of the face knocking him to the ground. As he got back up the Campus cop came over yelling to break it up and dragged the kid inside and told me to stay put. As He drug the kid inside, I snatched my sub box, and amp. And put it in my truck. Locked the doors, and then went and talked to the cop. The cop is a family friend of mine, and had known my truck was broken into. I told him the story, told him the dude SAID he broke into someones truck and stole them. And thats why I punched the dude in the face. All this being said, the dudes going to jail for 1-2 years, for his SIXTH theft charge, not to mention all the Breaking and entering charges (and hes 19) So I got my subs back, and am going to try to fit them in my s-10 somehow, to go with my 2 10" subs. Any suggestions on how to make em fit (IN CAB) in an REGULAR cab 2001 s-10 |

Talk about luck. But six charges of theft? Someone has to be caught stealing six times before being taken to jail?

Man what are the chances of that happening. Cool that you got your stuff back though and even better that you clocked him one good time before the cops took him.

Can't he sue your ass for assault or battery? For punching him... I'm not one to know the deep stipulations of the law, but I would advise not causing people physical harm. Whether he stole from you or not he could rape the **** out of you in a battery/assault case.
That being said, funny you should run into him and he said "oh yeah i broke into a truck and stole them" Who the hell would buy them once you have just said you stole them...??? Good **** man, good ****. |

I suppose he could sue me for punching him. Idk though. Just the fact he broke the window out of my truck to get the stuff...and then is NOW trying to sell it to people.

My girlfriends neighbor has broken into her parents house 3 times, numerous homes on the block, been caught with 3 stolent cars, several drug posession charges and the last one was an illegal weapons charge.....He racked all these up over the course of 2 years and never saw any jail time until his last Breaking and Entering charge....and even then he had bail set at 2500 bucks.....Hes now doing 2-3 years though....not nearly enough for all the problems he caused people... Only justice with him is that one of the houses and vehicles he broke into was rented by some college kids....who caught him in the act, beat the living **** out of him and then called the cops.....their story was he "fell trying to flee the scene" LMAO Glad you got your gear back....even happier you punched the jackoff in the side of his face.....Now take him to small claims court and sue for the cost of repair to the window and any damages that you suffered because of his actions.....Since he was already found guilty of the crimes its a def win situation |

A good attorney would have the guy press charges for assault. Good for you for giving him what he deserves, but I hope he's too stupid to realize that he can also make trouble for YOU. Bottom line in the eyes of the law is that crimes against people (assault and battery, etc.) are generally more severe than crimes against property (vandalisim, theft). I'm not saying that he didn't have it coming - I just hope there's no fallout for you.
Congrats on getting back your stuff either way! |

I have seen dozens of people get punched in the face and none press charges. The only guys who did got hit with a glass and kicked in the face, both weapons, shattered his eye socket. What are you going to be a ***** and sue for what damages? Getting punched? Seriously. Fees and time in court and proof and everything else would not be worth the small amount of money.

He's gotten CAUGHT stealing six times. I don't think intelligence is one of his strong points. Theres a difference between doing something and getting caught doing something. |

we all understand what you mean but theres a very strange feeling when you have stuff stolen from you like gut wrenching and emptyness and anger too where i used to live in Plymouth England we had about 30 incidents with youths and stuff happening around our house an to our cars. the best one i remember was my we installed CCTV around our house cause where we lived was basicly a dark ally by the side of our house with the road. its hard to explain but we had the cctv hooked up to computers and was constantly recording and my dad who was in the office at the time happened to notice it and came out cause about the time he come out a police car arived because they were driving around in a stolen car and had dumped it at the bottom of the lane. so there were like no one to be seen but they tryed getting into my mum's Ford KA. but failed so tryed my Rover 100 the bent out the top corner of the door in order to get there hand in and pliers to unlock it an tryed breaking the steering lock. which on camera looked like they were trying to **** the gear stick to be honest. but they hid behind the 2 cars and the wall they were parked next to and about 5 mins of the police hanging around they searched around the car an found all 3 of them. i told them to wave to the camera and one of the dopy cnuts did. also made a nice video for the police to keep. even though they did like £1000 $2000 worth of damage and the little **** didn't get charged or anything |

Oh, HELL yeah... I totally get that, believe me. After the second time my motorcycle was stolen in Chicago, I put a SILENT ALARM and a hidden wheel lock stealthed inside the brake roter and left my trusty cut-down shovel handle propped beside the door. Sure enough, about 4 months later, the alarm pager goes offat 4:00AM. I run out, and see someone in the garage trying to push the bike out - it's not rolling because of the lock, however. The **** sees me coming, shovel handle in-hand and dumps the bike, then books off. I'm glad he ran - if he hadn't, I don't know that I wouldn't have hurt him. Bad. I was certainly ready to cash in his chips, believe me. The older, wiser me, however, realizes that it would have been REALLY stupid to go to jail over a piece of garbage like that, no matter how nice the bike. |

Well said. Maybe the older wiser you will use a shotgun next time?
No no no, hear me out... Not necessarily a loaded one, but the sound of a shotgun is awful recognizable and not something you'd want to hear while doing shifty activities. Just some food for thought... |

Problem is... in MY family, you don't pull a gun unless you're totally sure you mean to use it. Just threatening is a good way to get shot. |
