would that give off alot of light?, granted i dont need fogs, i have some installed on my car to fill the empty gaps from the factory. but they aernt wired. just want something to give off some light, and draw low power. and look good, functionality not a priority. rarely fog here in south florida.. |

I'd say the floods would give a good output of noticeable light but not anything you could drive by, the spot will carry further than the flood but it'll be more of a focused beam...
The only thing I'd suggest is if you do go this route to make sure to put some form of lens to seal the front of the led to prevent damage from road debris... |

neither will work as a fog light.
Maybe as a DRL but neither for usable output in terms of a fog light |

yeah, i had no intention of it being a functional fog light, so a DRL is basically what im tryin to accomplish, my car didnt come with fogs from the factory, so it doesnt have the wiring harness and such for them, i picked up OEM factory fogs just to fill the gaps, but they are not wired, and rather than try to install a harness, run wires, add relays, add multifuntcion switch to my driving column, and such, since i dont need them to be functional i was goin to either A: fit a couple white leds in the foglight housing and tap into my headlight wires just to get it to glow using the reflective housing, or B: i just found those LED floods, which got me thinking i could fit into the housing in place of a bulb, but they might not reflect in the housing since they would be directional forward in the casing they come in,...
also just saw the LED 194 bulb for sale here too, hmm... can you buy a wedge socket somewhere? i didnt see one here... that might work better.. |
