How the hell do you get the lighting right when you are taking a picture of the Underbody kit and all the other lights. My friend and I have been messing around with everything. Tried a lighted parking lot(got some good pictures but blury), out on the street(either saw lights or just car). What is the secret?

some say that you should park it just out of the reach of a street lamp and stand under the street lamp and take the pic with no flash. ive never gotten around to usin our camera and tryin any of it

You should try taking pictures around dusk time, when there's no direct sun but it's still light enough to make out the car.
If you have time, stand around outside for like half hour - 45 minutes and just take pictures at different intervals. Should give you a good idea. Unfortunately, here it's cold out, and gets dark early. I don't really have time to take good pictures! |

Yeah, the next time I get a chance I will do it around dusk or dawn. It just **** me off that I can't get a good picture.

It also depends on the camera. What kind do you have? How many megapixels?

get a slow exposure camera, a tripod, and shoot away... with very little ambient lighting in the backround.
the iceled folks are pretty good at this... they have some good professional photographers. you should log onto their forum and ask them... |

A tripod is a must. Or at least a surface, so you aren't holding the camera. Sometimes, I hold the shutter open for a few seconds in a very dark area, and have the flash go off. The flash lights up the car, and the long exposure gets the UB lights.
The cool thing about dig cams is that you can experiment with a lot of different methods, and not worry about wasting film... |
