Hey guys this is a long shot but i had a question. I was scanning through the focus fanatics board and came across a section i really like. I don't if it would possible or even feasible to add it on oznium, and i know we have everything else but thats so broad.
My question is why not add a car detailing and car care section. More or less tips, and such about anything having to do with washing, waxing, detailing, and claybar. Like i said i don't know about this but i know on my other board it is a really nice section and very helpful. It gets lots of tips and advice out there and people are able to talk about new products they like. Especially with oznium having car care products i could see how this would work. And i know there are alot of show/cars people take tons of pictures. And i know we all know about washing cars, but still something to discuss different ways, and things and also a way for people who don't know much about something like that it would be helpful. I just thought i would ask. |

I like this idea. Don't know if it will happen. I say it should get done. They have this on a couple other boards I frequent and I love it. I love reading up on detailing tips. Good idea.

Yeah very true. Like I said i was browsing the board on FF and remembered it. IT's always been a wealth of information for me and a bunch of others. I love reading about different ways of doing things and also finding out about new stuff. And i know a bunch of people on here are big into it like myself. I work part time detailing and such cars for a business where i live and love it.
Anyways i don't know if it will happen but i would love it too. And like i said since Oznium sells this kind of stuff i think it would help there too. If it does happen (on the off chance) i would like some kind of part in that section, i love that stuff really do. I'm not asking for dictatorship just something to help out because I love it and would totally love to help with something like that. |

Definitely a good idea, I've seen it on many of the boards I surf around on. Always good to let others know how we all keep things shiny.... mmmmm, shiny!

I think it would be a good addition, but Phil doesn't want to clutter the forums up by having 1234567 different sections on the main page. Sounds good to me overall though.

I know he wouldn't want the forums cluttered. But i think it would be an excellent addtition as well as people who use the Oznium cleaning or car care products could post there maybe get some more feedback on them then we do right now.

I wanted to pick it up and try it on my borla tip. See if it would make it any better. Like i said though. Alot of people here are into show and such and with a car care section i think it could be a really big part and really benficial. And i have said it maybe 5 times now. I think it would be a great way for phil to finally get some more things out there about his car care stuff.

You have to think about this;
How many people will frequent it? Will there be many new posts about it? While it may be a nice touch, it will be adding another section that might not get used much. If it works on other forums that people visit, it might be easier to just keep going there. The topics could be already covered or something. My suggestion? Start a new thread. "Car Detail Tricks". Post the link to either individual forums dedicated to car cleaning/detailing or give specific links to helpful posts. Kind of like a giant link thread, but it still gets the job done without having another section. |

Eh i still think a section would be really good. IMO i think it would be frequented alot. Because it already is on focusfanatics. And not everyone wants to jump to another forum just for that and may not be in another forum.
Especially alot with the new comers to oznium they could see it hit it up and get helpful hints or advice or post some personal expiernce with products, and techniques. I really don't think adding a new section like this one wouldn't be used much. And like i told them it would be a great way for the oznium car care stuff to be out there. With new members if they hopped over and saw and read about them and saw pictures or such of how well they work i think it would be great. As for a giant post, who would want to scan through all the pages to find something. I know i wouldn't especially when a new question about soemthing comes up. I would rather find it readily available at what i am looking at then trying to jump somehwere else to read. Just my 2 cents. Edit: Losing i agree next week i am ordering lights and though i would order a few car care stuff too to try it out. If this section go up and running i would be more than willing to help out with stuff like and anything else. If it got up and failed then get rid of it. |

Exactly and what better place to have one then oznium. I mean with all the shows, or meets and everything it would be ideal. Like i said if we can get phil talked into it and what not i would def. be willing to be a big part and help with it, as i am on just about 21 hours out of the day, and absolutly love this stuff. I do it part time and i do it at my house for about15-20 people i know. Give them a good deal, and make enought to come out with product and a little extra.
Good site i have been there. But i still think a section like this would do very well here. |

Might be able to i wouldn't know still i think it woul;d be just as simple to implement a new section. I seriously could wrong about that as i don't do web design. Anyways i think its a great idea seems like alot of people like it. And if it were sub category or its own i def think it would work out. So if phil hops on i might try and just talk to him about something like this see what he thinks and such and see if he would think it would be beneficial for members and for the oznium products.

I say put it as a subforum on how-to... instead of having a thousand stickys, I think we sould have a couple subforums in how-to... like electrical questions, rather than going into installation should go into the electrical secion of How-to... Same would go for detailing.
Especially with it being spring and all. |

We have an active detailing section on my MINI forum... Have to be careful though - people get rabid about their favorite products, and tend to get personal when others say something dother than their favorite product is better.
Plus, for instance, I use detailing products NOT from here, and if I start posting about what I use to keep my car mirror-bright, then that erodes Phil's product line, so I'll be hesitant to post up and possibly send someone to a different site. I like Phil - I don't want to make his forum successful by advertising a competitor's stuff... I'd be willing to contribute GENERAL stuff, like "How To Use a Porter Cable Random Orbital Polisher" and "How To Properly Wash Your Car For a Swirl-Free Finish" and stuff if you like - I'm not a professional detailer, but I've been given tips by the best. |

^^^ i agree with the products. But i think it would be alright. I know people here have some and i wanna try a few, and we could post that. Also plenty of people post about streetglow on here all the time and it ok. But the general idea was for tips advice, questions, ideas and such. And people could post about new products that hit the market when they try them out. Just a thought.

While alot think it is a good idea. I bet 99% it won't happen. Imago has a very good point and is what I was thinking. Plus phil has said before he doesn't want any new forum sections. Sorry bro. Odds are it isn't happening.
