Because who wants to drive a dirty car?
Discuss all aspects of car care such as favorite products or special techniques. Here's my tip of the day: When washing your car in colder weather, fill the soap bucket with warm water from your kitchen faucet. In addition, use a long pair of rubber gloves to keep your hands dry and warm. Oznium has a product line-up of surprisingly great car care products: http://www.oznium.com/car-care Thanks to robbie for suggesting this new section. |

Good idea on the new forum.
Now we need a sticky on the "proper" order in which to clean a car. I need to wash and wax my car soon, but gotta wait 120 days before waxing my driver's side fender and entire front clip where I just got them repaired from an accident from a while back. |

120 days? lol. Who told you that? Some clears cure quicker than others. But almost all automotive clears are fully cured within the week. Most are a couple days. 120s is rediculous haha

That is what they told be at the bod shop. Ill go along with it. He said I could clean it all I wanted, just no wax. I'm not gonna complain, because the work is guaranteed as long as I own the car.

Its a complete waste of wax to even wax every other week. If your car wax doesn't last atleast a month (or 3-4 like most waxes can do) then you are either washing your car wrong or you need to switch waxes. |

Or I just like the look of fresh wax. I use meguires nxt gen wax. I want to pick up the gen 2 of it. IDK. I wax about once a week or once every two weeks as I love the look of fresh wax. Black cars show every little spec of dirt. And I get bored sometimes haha |

That's kind of something I wondered to be honest..
So putting on wax ontop of wax doesn't add more layers or anything? Just wipes the next wax off the old layer of wax pretty much? |

Depends on what you use. I personally remove the wax with a special car was soap designed to remove wax from cars and apply a fresh layer. I get bored and like I said. I love the look of a fresh coat. This year when I clay bar, and polish my car do not plan on doing this though. WIth a nice claybar and polish my paint will be smooth as glass. And I will be putting wax and sealant on there. And then only waxing about once a month. |
