What is the preferred cleaner for windows?

I have only used the rain-x automotive window cleaner before and it works well, but was just wondering what others thought.

i just use anything that is Ammonia free....dont want to mess up the window tint...as for outside, I hardly ever clean them, just wash the vehicle a lot and Rain X spray is allright.

I guess it really depends on where you buy it,I get mine at Sams Club, they sell it in an four pack, for about $8.00 which is a pretty good deal.
I've also seen the single cans at Target, but I forget how much they were selling them for. icon_confused.gif

I like Invisible Glass the most, but i use Sprayway also cause my boss gives me cans of it for free. We go through a case every week cleaning the casino/arcade screens and wall to wall mirrors. icon_confused.gif

So newspaper seems to be everyones favorite here, I have heard of this but never tried it. I always use paper towels and it ALWAYS leave streaks, then I go back over the window with microfiber and it helps a little bit

I'll have to try out the paper, we get one every Sunday icon_smile.gif

I had never tried the newspaper before, so I can't compeltely tell you if its the newspaper or the Invisible Glass, but either way I have no streaks.

Heck, I told my grandmother about it and she is going to start using around the house on the glass doors and all.

Notice how even though we can edit our posts he didn't go change the 'I like peener' biglaugh.gif

Also, I've never got streaks with paper towels. Usually use shop towels, spray product on, spread with one towel, wipe with separate, and wipe again with one more towel.

I absolutely hate cleaning my windows, so I have to try some of the stuff that got mentioned in this thread.

I have tried about 3 aerosal cans from AutoZone, two types of Windex (and even off brand that I stole from our cleaning lady). I even went out and bought a special microfiber cloth that was supposed to be specifically for window cleaning.

I'll have to grab some newspaper and Sprayaway or something....

Stoners Invisible Glass? That sounds more like Formula 420, a glass bowl cleaner, not window cleaner...

PS: From the last few hours cleaning up the front office spacking around, I still love my Windex! icon_biggrin.gif

Try the Invisible Glass Kris. My grandmother has started using it all around the house instead of the Windex she is accustomed to.

Unless you get the Windex with Vinegar, regular Windex is bad for tinted windows.
