How much money/time have you put into your car? After looking at cars here ive seen a few nice ones, that look to be very spendy and very time consuming as well.

I am 19 yrs old. And i probably have about 8k invested in the neon in just aftermarket parts. If you wanted to count in the paint and material that I get for uber cheap from work at normal price it would easily be over 1500 in material. I have blown through alot just trying differnet things out and what not.
My inteior will be worth over 1300 in just material when completed. Pays to be in the buisness though As for time. An amazing amount. I work on my car so much. Spend an amazing amount of hours on it. Who knows. I have been working on this car for 2 years now. |

got the car for 1k
4 tires, windshield, brakes all around, muffler&exhaust work, new headlights, new battery, added up to about $1500-1600 then paint & prep would have been about $1200-$1500, but i did the work myself about $200 in lighting so ive spent $4050 on average including buying the car.. when its ONLY WORTH $1500 in this condition. |

Oh ****..here it goes
$4000 - 1998 Mustang v6 (old car) $350 - Tires $300 - rear axel (I was teaching myself how to drift.... $60 - new rear passenger side rim (shattered when I drifted onto a curb..) $300 - complete tune up when I got the mustang (plugs, wires, filters, gaskets) $200 - random neons and ricer stuff $130 - head unit $200 - Sub and Amp (good price, from dad) $2000 (and my mustang) - 1997 Ford Probe GTS (current car, and partner for life..) $30 - distributor cap $80 - soon to be distributor So approximatly $7,650.00 wow As far as hours go.. Damn its gotta be alot.. I would have to say at least 50 hours. (two ENTIRE strip downs of the engine/engine bay in the mustang, and then constant maintence, not to mention the whole rear suspension to put the axel back in..) *EDIT* forgot to mention I paid for 3 different batteries when it turns out all I needed to do was clean out my alternator cuz some leaves and crap got stuck in it |
