Last night I got to drive my g/f's step dad's Porsche 911 turbo (aka 930). Now that was an unreal experience! It's an older one, I think an '87, but 300 hp, 300 lbs torque, under 3000 lbs in weight, it moves baby! Cruised some back country roads for about 20 mins, I opened it wide up many times, toyed with the redline, didn't get to try any really tight corners but I did go around some decent bends at a good speed. I was really impressed with how 'civilized' the car was, I thought I'd be squawking the wheels off the line every time, but it starts off very nice and calmly. Then the power starts building up and you get to a point where you can feel that it's ready to unleash hot fury, which I let it do as much as possible. The owner was with me, and he doesn't get to be a passenger in that car often, maybe only a handful of times. He was really impressed with how I drove it, most people are afraid to do anything more than calmly cruise around, but I put it through it's paces! You might be laughing at a poor newb like me when it comes to cars like this, but I have to tell pretty much everyone about this, it was just that much of a great experience. My poor Si seems so ghey now...well that's not true, the 2 cars are in 2 completely different classes. Here's a pic of an almost identical Porsche.

Are you talking at the crank or wheels? If it's at the wheels I would have to see a dyno of that before I believe it. You have a 350 bored and stroked to a 370 w/ exhaust (assuming your gallery is updated). I'm not saying you don't have a lot of power b/c I'm sure you do, but I don't think you have over 400whp. But feel free to prove me wrong. Even if it did have 400whp, it still weighs 6,000lbs (plus speaker box weight) so it's no sports car. |
