im looking at a new HU for my 08 scion xb. i've already rulled out the avic and other styles like it. due to girls saying its kinda boring.
Navigation isn't an issue i have a little garmin thing already which are the best FLip out dvd monitors that u know of. touch screen ipod controls and all that. i know pioneer has one and jensen has the vm9412 which is pretty sweet. what other companies make these type of models. and come with gear so that steering wheel controls r not lost? Thanks |

I bought the vm9312 when it just came out - Jensen usually makes crap products the vm9312 is awesome and has nothing but good reviews, the vm9314 also seems to incorporate a lot more and is pretty cool... my 2 cents.

Eclipse always makes extremely quality headunits, and their indash are some of the best.

if your looking for i-pod interface alpine is leading the way. they have head-units just for that where you can scroll through your whole library on the head unit

Odds are you won't be able to keep your steering wheel controls. I have seen someone custom wire it in. But took a lot of time and a lot of tinkering with the stereos electronics. Basically he hacked up the remote for the stereo. Was cool but A LOT of work and problem solving. Need a pretty good knowledge of electronics.

There is an interface you can buy that makes your steering wheel controls work with certain head units. I have one just haven't wired it up. called the PAC SWI PS

Alpine FTW especially if u want ipod. However, I have heard good things about the Kenwood Excelon touch screens.
