Does anyone know where i could find an Add-A-Circut? I have tried to wrap a wire around the fuse lead, but there is not enough room for the fuse to fit back in with the wire on it. Another idea i had was to attach my main power wire directly to the fuse box or battery, and put a fuse in the circut. any ideas on that? also, please let me know of any other methods for getting power. thanks!

You can get power from a number of sources...if you wish to purchase an Add a Circuit try Autozone, Shchucks, Walmart, Fred Meyer, oznium.com, etc.

I highly recommend you do not fab up a wire attached to your stock fuse holder...just asking for a problem.

Normal sources of power:
run a wire from the battery with a fuse and ground it,
T Tap into your cig adapter in your vehicle
T tap into a power wire such as radio, power windows, power locks, dome light etc.

thanks for the recommendations, im just worried that if i attach directly to the positive battery terminal instead of the fuse box, that it could throw out too much power and keep blowing the fuse. would that be a problem?

Nope...the battery is a 12V battery icon_wink.gif

Run as much wire as you want...what are you hooking up? For cathodes, strobes etc just run 1 power wire...approx 10" from the battery terminal (+) run an inline fuse holder (can be purchased at shucks etc) with about a 5 AMP fuse....then run your wire into the vehicle to what you want to run....make sure you ground the item you are lighting to a bolt/nut that is attached to metal icon_wink.gif

If you are doing interior lighting.....the easiest thing to do would be an add a circuit with a 5Amp fuse in the fuse box...this way you avoid having to run wire through the fire wall to your desired item you wish to light icon_wink.gif

Saves you time and effort...as for which circuit to use in the fuse box....just pick one that is empty...they are all live just need a fuse put into one of them.....the empty ones are most likely fuses for your vehicle that were not used from the factory because you did not have the options required for it....if your fuse box is entirely full....just remove a fuse for an accessory (consult your users manual to determine what fuse goes to what) and replace it with the add a circuit...this way the circuit is still getting power from the vehicle, but you are tapping into it for additional power....I would recommend that you do not exceed the stock Amperage for the fuse you remove though....

think of the add a circuit as Splicing a power wire on your vehicle....just saves you time icon_wink.gif

Another great product for installations, Radio Shack Cable 'Squeeze' Tap Ins:

Radio Shack URL - Radio Shack URL 2 (22-18 ga.)

Just run inline with the wire you need power from (cigarette lighter / 12v plug, if it's only on with when the car's on / has a switch) and reduces any need to splice / cut the wire, and can be easily undone. One of my favorite products by far for easy installations icon_smile.gif

I just have a single 12" cathode kit, so would using a 5A fuse be ok or overkill? or should i just get a 2-3A when using in a add-in-circuit

add-a-circuit is my favorite method! so easy to just pull the circuit when doing maintainence or adds. any auto store should carry them.

The battery will only supply what your light drawns from it. Thus, if your lights pull 2 amps, it will supply 2 amps. If you lights draw 10 amps, your battery will supply 10 amps. The good thing about going directly from the battery, is that you can be more assured that the wiring from power to your lights is properly sized to take the load.

So does using the add-a-circuit eliminate the need for an extra fuse? Is there already one built into it?
