so a while ago i got the green led dome light and i love how it lights up the car
but a long time ago before i got too in to the car lighting thing i put in two cheap green (autozone) neons under the dash. i liked them ALOT at first before i got the domelight but now that the dome light is so bright and also the same color as under the dash i wanna give it some other brighter color under there for more contrast to mix it up what color do you guys suggest i get under the dash? i dont really want red or blue because those are too common. i was thinking pink or orange or something bright and unordinary, but i want it to look good with the green. and also what do you think i should use for doing this under the dash? cathodes or led strips? |

For a more rich color especially with something of those colors, in my personal exp. i would say LED strips. Becuase cathodes the color will be a bit more soft.
As for what color?? I would say what every you like. If you go pink get a few for each side. I ran one in a footwell lit it up but not as bright as i wanted to. |

Or go with Flowlighting Inferno, and you can have every color.

well all you need are 2 6" tubes, and you are looking at what? $60? but otherwise, go for Flowlighting single color, and pick which one you want

will one 6 inch tube be enough on each side to light it up?
i have 12 inch ones on each side right now but remember they are the cheap autzone kind, and they are just moderately bright compared to what ive seen |

Flowlighting is the thing to go with, Phil has the best stuff imo, and incase you didnt know, hes the Flowlighting owner...
with that being said, id say 1 6" on each side would be enough. |

^^ Yeah but those run the same LED stuff as the V2 kit. If you want million go with strips in a million color a controller will be cheaper and far more effective for your usage IMO.
It's really up to you if you want multiple go with something million based. If you are looking for just a solid nice color i would say strips of some sort. |

yes thats what im talking about, no i dont actually have these, but from what i understand, 1 is sufficient for under the dash...
someone else might chime in. and robbie, that will STILL do million colors without controller, and he can even pause it on the color he wants without the controller. |

oops, meant to do reply... he can let it run in its 'preset' mode, where it just scans through colors, and he can 'pause' on the color he wants, or just let it scan

How can he pause it only wire in the wires for the colors he wants??? Becuase with out any controller he has no control over that tube.

i thought these changed colors too? whats the difference between the 6 inch thing and the million color? just the color range? basically i just want a BRIGHT color one-at-a-time color changing led bar under my dash that can be wired to a cheap switch and be stopped on one color |

Robbie, like i said, it will do a color sweep over the spectrum. Then he can hit his switch to pause it on a color that he chooses ... and if he hooks them all up to the switch, they will turn on, and pause on the same color.

From the product page...
The LEDs will turn on and cycle seamlessly through the color spectrum until power is disconnected. To pause or un-pause the automatic color cycle, simply "tap" the blue data wire to a 12v+ source for half a second. This positive signal on the blue data wire tells the tube to pause. Usually, you'll use a momentary rocker switch to do this. A momentary switch is spring loaded, so normally no power runs through it. When you push it down, it sends power through. Upon releasing it, the switch springs back up to stop the flow of power. |

Seems like alot of work for something a strip and a controller could achieve. With a controller to give complete and much easier control.

all i ever see out of you on this site is nay-say lately... but here we go...
the guy says hes on a budget... its EASY to do, you hook up a switch, and hit it on the color you want... easy... or, later, he can get a controller. |

LOL nay-say? I know he is on a budget. It's cool though. It's really up to him i would say, i wasn't saying do not get them and they are bad. Just stating it sounds like alot of work to try and get it to stay on one color thats all. I am entitled to my opinion i think.
http://www.oznium.com/led-strip-flat-head I ran one of these in each foot well was REALLY bright. Just me though i have a video of them if you want. |

haha ok i wanna end this so for a really bright CONTROLLED (solid color 1 at a time but that can change with a controller) with no fancy patterns or music or flashes, these two things would be all i need
2 of one of these in the million color: http://www.oznium.com/flexible-led-strips and one of these for controlling the color it shows and stopping it on that color: http://www.oznium.com/rgb-ribbon-control (for manually changing the color) http://www.oznium.com/rgb-led-controller ( for sitting back and waiting for the color i want and then pressing the button to stop it on that color) am i right?? haha |

any wire should work. MAKE SURE you get the Interconnectors for the RGB Fladhead strips.
Get THIS controller http://www.oznium.com/rgb-ribbon-control and then its really easy from there. Cause on THAT controller it comes with a cool little connector. And you cut the interconnectors *2 of them* and those connect to the controller. |
