They are not interchangeable....sorry, but you will need to buy the V2 if you want the features of the V2.

They are on sale right now though marked down over 100 bucks

^ He's completely correct. Maybe you can look into making your own quick disconnects. I'm sure its possible with a little know how.

It is definitely possible and has been done before. I was thinking about doing it myself to my iceled ufo tubes.

Make sure they are waterproof. It could be something so obvious that it's over looked by someone. Not that you wouldn't make them water proof (mainly said this for anyone else reading).

Ah yes. Forgot to mention that. I plan on using the same type of quick disconnect that my hid harnesses use. They seal up very tight and can easily disconnect them. Now just to find where I can get some.

They are molex connectors. The hard part is finding a crimper for the pins and sockets to make the fittings. I have one and they are pretty salty.

Another option is to get a Cat-5 crimper since the v1 uses cat5 cable then use a hub between the two cables. You could either tape the hell out of the connector or put the connector just inside of the car.

Go to page 751 to see connectors very similar to ones that Whelen uses.

Adding quick disconnects to the V1 would be a PITA due to the cat5-style wiring.

Not really, if you have the right crimper and connectors.

Well if there's a waterproof quick connector that crimps up to cat5, I haven't seen it...

When I get a few minutes, I'll cut a cat 5 cable up and show how I'd do it. I'll take some pics.
