Dunno if any of u saw my other thread, but I recently bought a bunch of new stuff for my system. Anyways, I removed my HU today and I looked on the back and I only have 1 set of preouts icon_cry.gif Don't ask why I have such a crap HU, cuz I don't know why I got it either. Well actually I do, it's cuz I was being cheap icon_confused.gif Anyways, I can't install my new speakers and PDX 4.150 without a new HU. I might as well get one with 3 sets of preouts. I've been looking at these:Any other suggestions? I'm currently leaning more towards the Pioneer. I have 45gb on music on my ipod and I heard the search feature and ipod interface on the Pioneer is better than the Alpine's.

Alpine's IVA line was developed hand in hand with Apple, if you're going to be using an iPod with it I'd definitely go with one of those.

go with the alpine. I have a 9883 and i really like it. Alot of these HU's have this wonderous ipod connection ability and yadda yadda. Personally, **** it. You want to know whats even better? Being able to hookup any external media player with a 3.5mm jack. Fits in the headphone jack, you control it via your player, other ppl can mess with it if need be, world is good. This is what i do with my sansa and my HU. I bought the connection interface and it goes to two RCA jacks so essentially you can hook up anything with rca's. I had to buy a rca to minijack, but it was a great thing to do. If you are hooked on it working from your HU, then alpines are pretty good. Quality wise, alpine is much better. You are als using an alpine external amp, stick with the alpines, they are made to work together. just my 2 cents

How well do the HUs work with a large collection of music? I've heard complaints with the Alpine HUs when there's a lot of songs. For example, let's say u were listening to T-Pain and want to now switch to Snoop Dogg. From what I understand, the HU starts all over again at A instead of leaving off at T-Pain. Is this true? Are Pioneers like this?

SubXero: the Pioneer has "Passenger Control Mode", so if ur riding in my car and don't know how to use my HU, u can still control from the ipod.

Sorry not gonna drop a grand on an IVA icon_sad.gif

Alright, so I've talked to a bunch of people, and most people say that Alpine's have the best ipod interface. The main reason I want an interface is so I can change stuff with the remote. I really don't like looking down at the ipod connected to aux. I'm still considering the Pioneer, but now I'm looking more at the CDA 9886 and CDA 9887. Any opinions on the 9887 or do u think I should just get the 9886?

Buy my Pioneer HU

http://www.oznium.com/forum/topic18061

$150 shipped to your door, 3 sets of pre-outs. AND comes with the Ipod connection. And the Ipod connector interface DOESNT work on AUX, it has its own channel. And you navigate your songs using the headunit. Its super easy, and it works GREAT, i upgraded to a DVD motorized HU

Check out this page. All these are the ones I mentioned that were developed with Apple to have a great iPod interface.

I was considering it for a while, but I think I'm gonna go with Alpine. Plus I can get the P600UB for not that much more, so it really wouldn't be worth it to buy ur used one that's an older model at that price.
