ok, so i've had green cathodes under my seats and in my footwells for a year on their own switch

well I want to keep the switch but wire up a wire heading from my cold cathodes to my dome light as well so when my blue dome light and map lights come on when I unlock the car or open the door the green cathodes do too
thus they go off when I shut the door

at the same time I can still turn them on at anytime with the old switch I already have

ok so if you're still with me you understand what i'm trying to accomplish
now the issues
I have a dimming dome light
how do I work around this?(I know dimming kills cathodes)
also I really don't want to have to run a wire from under my headliner
can I accomplish the same thing by tapping into the domelight fuse in the fuse box?
can I use a add a circuit to do it?

EDIT: I may wire up my blaze kit and possibly some led strips in the doorhandles like this in the future (should probably figure out how many amps I can safely run through the dome light)

ok since no one wants to respond, can I get a 12 volt power source that shuts off and on with the domelight by tapping into the domelight fuse?

that's the most important thing I want to know

Yes, you can do what you are wanting to do they way you are asking. Give everyone a chance to see this and you will get more input on exactly how to do what you are wanting.

What I would do icon_lol.gif:
-Buy led strips to replace the cathodes and eliminate any need for a relay. I'm a staunch LED person, though. But to work around the dimming problem, you will need a relay. Search the how-to area and you'll fine a few threads on how to use a relay for this purpose.
-Find the line that runs up to the dome light via a wiring diagram for your car OR just a few minutes of searching/tracking. I'm going to assume that the dimming device thingy is in the dash and it is safe to splice into the line anywhere outside the dash and still achieve the same dimming effect. Not sure on that. It might be located much closer to the dome light itself -- I don't think so, though. And you will probably want to google the maximum output for that device?? (this is where some of the more savvy people on here can chime in)...
-You can splice in a set of cathodes without blowing the fuse. When it comes to adding a UB kit and other stuff, you might want to either up the fuse or add a relay. Your choice there.
-Add-a-circuit question and fuse questions are answered above, too.

Sorry I can't be more help.

well since we drive the same car...................

I don't suppose you would happen to know which wire under the dash heads up to the domelight?

pop off the plastic cover on the left side of the windshield and trace the wires back.

just pull..gently. if you feel like you're gonna break something, pull just a lil bit more. if it doesn't come off then, you're doing it wrong LOL
the left side of the cover (facing the windshield) pulls OUT and away.
