icon_cry.gif Im stuck! Im putting in my LED lights so I can see my floor and I tapped into my dome ligh. there are 3 wires coming from my dome light. power(green/yellow), ground(black), and what I believe to be a remote wire(black/blue) I wired my lights up and they stay on. so I know I need that black/blue wire connected somewhere I just dont know where or how to do it. do I connect the remote to the power going to my lights? Im kind of stumped on this one... how should I wire them? Thanks in advanced for your help!

so you wired it up to the green/yellow and the black.. correct?
and with that, they only stayed on constantly?

what exactly do you want it to do?
come on when the doors open/ car unlocks..?
or do you want to have it on a switch to come on when you chose for them to?

i know nothing about your car so im just going to guess here and tell you what i think-

green/yellow is a constant power source for when you flip the switch on the dome light
black is ground
and i would think that the black/blue wire is power for when the doors open/ car unlocks..

if you want the leds to come on when you open the door/unlock, wire the power to the leds up to the blue/green and see how it works out..

if you want them to come on by switch, just wire a switch into the power side of your current set-up and see how it works.

let us know what happens,
or just generally a more specific detail of what is happening and what you want to happen

butt connectors are fine... i like them better than soldering because its way easier.

yeah but soldering insures a better connection and less chance of a short.

if you use them right with the right crimper it is very unlikely you will have a short

Both ways are perfectly acceptable but soldering will last longer and ensure a good connection.

Crimping is to soldering like bolting a body part on a car is to welding it on the car. Both are 100% acceptable but one will have less potential for problems later.
