I was skeptical about wheel wax at first, I figured it would help a little but not enough to justify the price of the product and the effort of applying it.

A couple days after I bought my truck I gave it the full wax treatment, which included wheel wax. I washed my wheels and then dried them with a chamois, making sure not to leave any water spots. Then used two coats of wheel wax on the front wheels and one coat on the back. It was easy to apply and easy to take off, just like waxing your paint.

Yesterday I noticed quite a bit of brake dust build up on my front wheels, it had been about a week and a half since a wash, with a lot of back road and highway driving. So I grabbed the garden hose, hit the wheels with some pressure and it all washed right away... icon_eek.gif icon_biggrin.gif I was shocked.

And the rear wheels either don't have any build up yet, or the rain washed off what little dust there was because they were clean. biglaugh.gif

If you were thinking about trying a product like wheel wax, I'd say go ahead and pull the trigger. It's worth it.

I don't remember seeing that anywhere, I'm pretty sure it said you can use it on everything. I'll double check when I get home though.

Korn, the only thing I could find on the jar that said anything about chrome was "Works great on chrome"

So I think you're good. icon_biggrin.gif

I think I got it for around 17 shipped? IIRC. Maybe it was 17 before shipping.

2 questions, Im assuming you can..but does it say if you can use it on painted wheels or just chrome?

Whats the difference with wheel wax vs just putting on a couple coats of regular car wax.

Wheelwax is actually safe for use on all wheel finishes. It's far superior to simply waxing your wheels,as most car waxes are not designed to hold up to extreme conditions, such as excessive heat and corrosive brake dust. icon_cool.gif
