What brand makes a good head unit for around $300-$400? Usually I stick with Pioneer, But I was thinking about this one.

From what I've seen you can't go wrong with JVC, good stuff from them.

Eh...JVC is low end. It's not quite like Jensen and Dual, but definitely a notch or two below Pioneer or Alpine. For $300-400 you can get a really nice head unit. I got my AVIC-D3 for $499.

I'm mainly looking for something that is touch-screen. Ipod connectivity and watching DVD's isin't that important. As far as the price range, as long as it's below $600.

I gotta Alpine CDA 9886 and it's awesome. I have 45gb of music on my ipod and it's the best as far as going through that fatty library. If u want a touchscreen double din, I've heard Kenwood Excelon makes awesome ones. Can't go wrong with the Alpine ones either. The Pioneer Avics are overpriced.
