I had a couple bottles of that imported about a year ago after my buddy in the Air Force came back from Europe. We did the whole nine yards...and yes, it is amazing.

I think I'm gonna buy a bottle of Lucid here soon... they made Absinthe legal in the US about a year ago now... but it's still not in the local stores.

Seriously? I saw a bottle at a local liquor store the other day. It might not be the real thing though, a knock off.

Thujone, it's very similar to THC and it's found in a few plants. The one most talked about is called Wormwood.

I'm pretty sure all drinks sold domestically in the US that are labeled as absinthe are free of thujone or have the ingredient in such small amounts (below the federal requirement) that you can't honestly expect to experience the real effects that led to absinthe's legend and its sometime prohibition .
Also in my experience the 'real stuff' that you can import tastes pretty horrible, even with the proper presentation . If you really want to experience a high why don't you just smoke a joint or a bowl of salvia with your liquor . Its cheaper and more effective then importing an expensive bottle of ill-tasting foreign booze with questionable pharmaceutical content . icon_lol.gif

The taste reminds me of a strong black licorice. It's tolerable, but I drink whiskey when others drink beer, and they wonder how I do it. The taste and burn just doesn't bother me that much I suppose lol.

the 108 shipped is worth THIS stuff though.

Dont know how they made it through customs and such, but damn. Its the real deal from europe.

3rd stage is the best icon_smile.gif

EDIT: And THIS **** isnt meant to drink straight, you could DIE if you drink pure shots. You absolutely HAVE to add sugar and cold water to the one i posted. And MANY from that site.

Importing an illegal substance is a felony in the states...I highly recommend none of you try it...not worth the risk as you would go to FEDERAL jail if convicted....and the lube is not included in your sentencing.

Uh, are you sure ? I can't think of any reason drinking straight absinthe, even real absinthe, would be deadly . And I don't know of any reason why a bit of cold water and a sugar cube would render a deadly substance perfectly safe .

Dunno, read on a info site that it could kill you somehow. Something with the shtuff that makes you see things. If you have too much of it in you, you could die. So I read.

As i was wondering around the internet, came across a NewYork Times article about absinthe.

There are 2 LEGALLY Imported Absinthes. Lucid and Kübler, Both legal. And you CANNOT be "punished by the law" For purchasing these absinthes.

Both contain Wormwood, the main ingredient to the "Green Fairy".

NewYork Times article

Here is the Lucid Website (cool ass bottles)
http://www.drinklucid.com/lucid_flash.cfm

And on there somewhere is where you can get it shipped from. For a bottle from NewYork to me, WITH a glass, is $88.88 for 750ml of absinthe. Enjoy
