Oznium neeeds a flash chat!

so i belong to another forum and they got a flash chat which lets everyonejoin without having to install any programs. It is a flash chat so everyone can be in the same room or different rooms but i think it would be good for the board

Been there done that. Was fun for about a week. then no body was ever in there. We have tried this multiple times. I am all for it. But it always fails.

haha tune in today to see whats on the Epic Thread. that would be interesting though.

Yeah, it's been done on AIM, Kevin hosted a design, and I believe someone else did as well.

I would be everybody is either working or something else.

Why not make it a chat room that you log into when you log onto the site? Kinda like the new facebook (even though facebook blows and so does the damn chat).

Why not just use the epic thread? It is pretty much the same thing and we can post pics and ****.

This chat room idea has been tried MANY times. And always fails.

I say no to the Epic Thread. We don't want people post whoring in ti and all

it would be nice... if you needed to talk to someone and they were on the site you could and what not

Like I said. I am all for it. It always is fun for a week or two then dies. In fact I think Justin still has his version. Lets wait for him to chime in.

there are a lot of hosters on this forum. I'm all about it if it happens.

I vote for an automatic chat in the side of the forum... like another frame, so when you log into the site, you're on the chatroom

that way people will actually use it..

Kevin. You know about that kind of programming and with your knowledge maby you could talk phil into it. As most of us have no idea what it takes. Maby even Phil doesn't I don't know. Shoot him an email about it duder.

Only thing I forsee as a problem is restricting material posted by the members....we all know someone on the site would be swearing up a storm or posting innappropriate links to pictures etc....There would need to be an automatic moderating tool built into the chat to prevent such problems...I dont think it could be done. Great idea though.

i would say we make the chat for questions... for like noobs to ask questions to be answered quick..

Um, you're part of the forum last time I checked.

The chat idea has been toyed with a number of times, and it always dies within a few days. That's the same reason Phil hasn't bothered creating one (and btw, he could make one no problem - he did build the entire Oznium backend...).

for all the years i have been a member here, never once did i ever see a flash chat go into trial, you cant expect a flash chat to pick up speed within a single week, thats just plan and simple marketing. if you aired a commercial once for your business, chances are no one will remember you. The chat needs to be in bold, it needs to be easily accessable, people will use it and people will **** int here when they are bored

The flash chat I set up was plenty well advertised, and was up for MONTHS.

There is simply no consistent interest for it.

I think subx was talking about a flash chat built into the forum.

If we were to try something built into the forum, it might work, but no one will ever know if we don't try. I know that I never did the other flash chat, because of having to go to another site and log-in and all that stuff.

I never could get logged in to the old flash chat, so I just gave up.

if it were built into the forum it would work.
