Well here are some new shots. Take them or leave it. There a few spots uneven..bite me. This was mostly done to remedy some rust spots that were present when i bought the vehicle. So to do this i didn't want to buy color matched or send it to a body shop.

Instead i did a satin black. I will work on it more to even it out. I like it and it work's for the car. Enjoy also what's the new mod for those of you who know this car.....

i'm also wondering what you used

gotta be careful with cheap spray paint on a car...the UV rays will start to make the finish chalk really bad

Not a huge fan of the satin/matte look myself, but props for going all out and not being afraid to dive right in . Why can't I look at your car without thinking that I'm going to see Robocop behind the wheel ?

Jordan no i didn't was in a rush between classes sadly. A Full shoot will ensue after the wheels have been refinshed with a the scheme i have for them.

Kryz and 90mustang- It is easy to fix if it chalks it chalks, it has been like this for just over a week no chalking thus far. It was krylon.

Blazer_97, Projectmayhe, and chevy thanks guys i appreciate it. The windows are being tinted maybe later this week 120 bucks with a lifetime warranty. 5% rear and 20 % or something front.

Cooper who knows the way it handles now you would think its a robot driving HAAH. Put it this way sign says 30 i can pull 75 through the corner no body roll, no pulling, and hugs like a *****. New rear sway bar goes on next week too.

Get your ass out there trent lol. Thanks.

Kyle thanks buddy appreciate it the rake still is a little off but wil even out over the next week. Should make the sides completely flat after it has settled.

Drifitng- Matte or satin Fords FTW!!! haha

Why didn't you just wet sand the black you had? It was a really good paint still... imo wet sanding the old paint would of made your car look like glass...

Yeah i could have used a clay bar and got the same effect. Andi could have wetsanded to take care of rust but they would have had to be covered.

I didn't care about the old paint it was shot in a few places and was faded beyond belief. I don't know this color resembles a stealth jet i like it so it works.

And i know i said but SVT 21mm Rear sway bar with energy bushings ships out on fri WOOOO. Corners will be my *****.

Wet sanding would have not taken any paint off really... and would have made all the dull areas disappear...

Use like 3000 grit ( I know many will argue with me ) that has soaked for like 30 mins to an hour seriously...

Would of made your paint look like glass... I practiced some more on the project Z at the shop and omg... seriously... it doesn't need to be cleaned ever now... looks like a F ing mirror..if I remember I will take a picture and show you a before and after...

Of course when you wet sand you must use a thick compound then a compound polish... using a orbital and a spray mister and letting the pad cool down A LOT between areas...

ALSO, you can buy a qt of flat black and rent spray gear now keep in mind ;) the paint job turn out is all determined in the prep work involved...

Curious did you try and hit the top? hehe ;) would of been tricky... had to prime out a hatch a while back was by no means FUN ;/

The top remains gloss as i didn't feel like doing it yet.

And for the spray gear??? WTF does it do me any good in my yard haha. icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe next time.

Lol, in the end you still spray painted your car. It's kinda splotchy man.. I'd do it the proper way if I were you.

Or wetsand.. it works just as good and wouldn't be splotchy:

In the end it's made for driving not looking pretty.

With the eibach's this thing CARVE's the road. I may wet sand in the future. right now doesn't matter to me. took care of rust and is hella fun and i have other things (sways and engine parts) that are going on first.

If you like it, that is all that matters. But I will never understand this whole flat/matte paint thing. Maybe cause I'm canadian, i dunno, but that paint job just gets beaten all to hell up here.

Most people when they think flat/matte think just that. The pics are a bit off but satin has a bit of a different look when sat next to a flat black car.

I like it and the wheels are going to be done in gold this weekend thankfully. Should be fun. I didn't do it for the look really. I do enjoy the look alot but i did it more for the rust spots that were starting to make their debut. And i wanted cheap paint i beat it to hell.
