9/11

Really weird. The only reason I even remembered was a family friend lost their son and the mother flies a large flag in front of her house along with a few different patriotic items. He was on one of the planes that was hijacked. Not that I don't care but if you don't pay attention to the date everyday something like this could just pass you by.
What were you doing when it all went down?

I was in class, and we all watched it on the news, and when the the second plane hit an older teacher said "I told you it was planned" to a co-worker. It seemed as though it was a movie.

The town I work for places a small flag for each life lost that day on their town green. The first year we did it I helped we used small hammers and ski poles to lay out the grid and poke the holes for the flags to be placed easily it took a very long time and really put a number that large in perspective.

I was in 8th grade, first heard about the planes in gym class, all the teachers got a call threw their walkie talkies. I didn't know what really went on until study hall when the teacher put on fox news and we watched it all day. I remeber coming home from school watching the news when Bush announced no planes can fly but there will be fighter jets. When all the nieghborhood kids were hanging out outside, it was felt extra quite out. Every so and so you could here a fighter jet fly by. Could never see them though.

What's really eerie for me is I got to Logan Airport from time to time and that is where some of the terrorists passed through. I don't know which gates, but it's odd to think that they probably rode the same escalator I do. The terrorists from Boston took the two planes into the towers themselves.

I in no way dissrespect the lives lost in the events of 9/11. Let's get that straight. I gave my prayers to those on that day and still do. Because it was horrific.

But look into things deeper for yourself.

i was in school.
my great education system of cherry hill didnt even let us know wil the end of school. when we had 2 periods left(about 1pm...) they put our school into lockdown. parents couldnt even pick kids up. at that time we had no idea what happened.. they didnt care to tell us.

everyone else i know, that wasnt in my school, was told immediately and they watched the news for he rest of the day since the incident in the morning.
we took class. then went into lockdown about 4 hrs after the planes hit. even in lockdown they didnt tell us what happened. i had to get home after school to see the news.

unfortunately my sisters birthday is on 9/11 so we had to find a way to tell her we werent going out to dinner for her birthday. being a little 5yo she didnt understand much

Yeah Robbie I am totally uneducated on everything and I need to you help me see things clearly via the Oznium website. Unreal. also 9/11 was not the last try..

a few terrorists(who were apparently employees at the time... ? ..) tried to board a fedex plane for the 'jumpseat' we used to provide free of charge to employees. the pilot took a look at them, saw no luggage, and refused to fly them out with them. background checks that followed showed that 2 of them were on the FBI list.

one smart pilot. probably saved his life and his crew's lives.

I would have dozens of points like this to make but some just can't see deep enough beyond a YouTube video.

that information was not passed thru media.. it was information passed thru coworkers and employees. i dont knwo how much of it is real or not.. but its what i have been told thru the company.

which kinda puts me in a wierd spot because i do think the pentagon was hit by a missile.. some video i watched a while back (which now no longer exists, ive searched) showed some good angles and what-not.. how a jetliner wouldhave needed to be like.. 5 ft off the ground to make that impact and somehow leave no remains..

Never said you were. I am glad you are. I don't like gadgets i hardly own maybe one or two at that. Don't read popular mechanics either.

I read that thread it adressed one thing mostly. The twin towers. My contention is with the pentagon. That is all. I don't dig into the WTC because those were clearly taken down by the planes. End of story.

Research the pentagon stuff. Not the WTC, after you really just see that. How you can honestly say a plane was to hit that.

9/11 will be in the text books for generations to come in the future. It is a huge thing that happened. It shot us into so many things it was rediculous. Things we are still trying to come out of.

woke up hungover to my little sister coming home from school telling me that "new york blew up". I was a waste of life then a little before I joined the Marines.

Its the Pentagon. A terrorist act occurred to the most prestigeously regarded classified buildings. Did you think they WOULDN"T confiscate the videos? Think about what you are saying.

I was at work at H.H. Gregg setting up for a customer to arrive to sell a big screen to. I watched it all unfold in horror. I remember calling my fiancee when the 2nd plane hit and told her to get out of the city (Cincinnati) and go to her mothers in the burbs. That day I weighed in at a hefty 248lbs. I decided that I would join the military that day. By December I was down to 191lbs and able to join. I'll never forget that day as it changed my life from over a thousand miles away.

Had a friend who was in the Pentagon at the time right next to the crash. I've talked about it w/ him and he personally saw the plane wreckage. I'm going to believe him over some youtube video of the security camera.

Anyone notice how bad security videos are. You move fast enough and you're just a small blur. That's b/c it only takes in enough light to capture the core of a body. And what does a plane look like when you remove the tail? That's right, a missile.

Anyways, I was driving in downtown Pittsburgh for work. Everything went to gridlock shortly after. Everyone sat there and there were stakeboarders riding through the middle of the road. It was like a scene from a movie, really neat actually (the scene in Pittsburgh, not the crashes).

Conspiracy theories make me chuckle. I can't believe people actually fall for that stuff

My aunt is that way though, she's always getting super anxious over the next theory. She hates telling me about it because I just let it in one ear and out the other and I always say "Wow, that's crazy" and go on with my day. That's my plan though...eventually she'll quit telling me about stupid fictional conspiracies.

I was a junior in high school, they let us leave about 10 minutes after everything went down. I went home, called my family members, then watched the news all day.

i was in bed.

my mom called me and told me not to leave the house. i asked her y and she said just don't leave she is on her way home.
i turned on News Channel 4 just as the 2nd plane hit the towers.
i was in tears watching this unfold. i had never seen anything like it.

I first heard about everything on the Bob and Tom Show. I was on my way to Engineerging Graphics CAD 1, freshman year of college. We talked about it and tired to keep up as best we could during class. I went to work after that and pretty much spent the entire work day watching TV.

I was in 8th grade in History class to be exact...kind of ironic.

He got the call, we turned on the news, and the next one hit.

My grandma called my cell phone (I was a balla in Middle School, haha) and told me to get to the office, I get to go to her house with her. Her brother works across the road or something from the pentagon so I had to keep her calm as she couldnt get ahold of him.

Twas a sad day.

I was in 7th grade history, and we actually didn't know about it though the news, one of the kids in my class had a father that worked in the Pentagon, and his uncle came in to tell him that there had been an attack on the pentagon, but his father was OK.

We stayed in school all day, but started watching it on the news within the first hour or so, and watched it the rest of our day.

7th grade English, Mrs. Swartz was here name.

We were learning prepositions and the prinicipal came over the P.A system.

We turned on the news, and watched everything. I remember watching TV allll day.

i was in 5th grade, and this kid who was always saying stupid **** and never knew what he was talking about came up and was like were going to have ww3 and i was like whatever, then went home and watched it all night..crazy

I was in high school history. We come into the room to see the tv on. Most of us were like YES movie! We see it is already on and our teacher is glued to it. We start watching thinking it isn't real. We watched it the whole class in shock. The next class was math. he wouldn't let us watch it. I stood up. Said you are not going to stop me from watching something so terrible. This is my country. I have people I know in that state. I ran down to the office and basically said. call my mom I don't care. I am going to watch this. I sat there the rest of the day and watched it. Very sad day.

I got a detention btw haha.

I was thinking of it the other way around. I thought a lot of the members were older, but they are all posting they were in the 5th to 8th grade. I'm like...whoa.

but it was somewhere around there. when it happened i didnt beleive what people were telling me in school until i saw it.

i was in the 4th grade when it happen and i really didn't understand it then. i was like 10 so i didn't really understand why it was such a big deal. i guess i just didn't get it thats all i can say

I was laying on the couch in my dorm room, nursing a hang over, and watching Joe Dirt. Sorry, Joe Dirte.

Two hours ago I was at the dedication of the 9/11 memorial at the Pentagon. Tonight was the first time the memorial has been open to the public. Seeing the few people that came out tonight to pace flowers, stuffed animals and other items really made me feel more than what I did when I was in 8th grade when this all happened. I saw two women place flowers on two different of the memorial's 'benches', kneel down put their head down and just cry. It was a very powerful sight to see.

Also today in DC, I went to a museum that's dedicated to strictly news and they had a entire section on 9/11. I saw a piece of the broadcast tower from the WTC as well as a piece of the stone from the Pentagon. In watching the news reels and seeing the newspaper headlines they were displaying from all over the world really gave me a larger insight as to how the even changed the world. I saw headlines about 9/11 in about every language.
