So Cal Audi "Front LED Crew" -mini gtg.

Just 3 of the growing group of A3s w/ Oznium's quality 4chip LEDs (trying to beat Audi to the punch before the new 09's w/ OEM LEDs starts hittin the streets- as we speak)

Nothing out there matches Oznium's quality LEDs.. cannot find anyone that has these products at all- thanks Oznium!

I love the LEDs, I also love the factory installed ones that are currently starting to sell... Gah I love Audi's and VW's....

yes unfortunately, Audi made some modifications to the 09 facelifts- they've shortened the overhang, and in the same process, changed the sheetmetal to the hood, bumper- so mounting points does not match for the new 09 headlights for the 06-08s bodywork.
Retrofit will not work, but the new LED taillamps does!

hmm I havent seen pics of the new taillamps. do you have a link to any of them by chance?

are you sure? it looks like it would be possible to swap the whole front clip and everything would line up... i havent looked at it close enough... should of when i had an 06 a3 and the tech next to me had a 09... we've yet to get one with xenon headlights and led drl's though... cant wait to see that

btw.... what did you do for the drls?

yES- Tthe whole A3 community at Fourtitude.com. Audizine.com has lookedinto retrofitting. Not a direct fit. Otherwise, PenskeAudi, and OEMPlus.com would have been selling them. Right now, they are selling what fits- the LED taillamps.

the middle car is using another type of LEDS- premade by FK, sold by ECS Tuning.

Led's are different colors because it is not an exact science. The diode distance (lengh) may change, meaning the light had to travel further, causing the lights different color. (kelvin temperature) as you approach 6500k it looks more pure white, where 3500k can look yellow, or even green. The higher the kelvin, the more blue/white the light gets. Different colors usually means poor manufacturing. I am was interested in retrofitting the new Led head lights for my 07 A4, but i found out here that is not possible... Where do you get the Led fog lamps??? Looks Sick!
I also want to upgrade to xenon headlight. buyers remorse...

one of you audi guys should hook up a strobe controller to those leds... it would be sweet

2 of the A3 are using the OZ 4chip (i think they are rated at 5000kelvin), while the other A3 has the FK unit- which is more of a 'warm' white color- at 3200k(just my guesstimate)

They are standard on 2009 A3s- and they are direct replacement for 06-08 A3s =)

Nearly Plug n Play- the ECU needs to be VAG-com (audi/vw software) needs to be re-coded (which can also set the brightness of the LEDs).
