Who is getting a new car within the next 6 months? If so, what do you plan on getting?

I am - right now, looking at the 08 Mazda 3 or the 08 VW Jetta

I like the Jetta's interior quality better, but the reliability of the Mazda has me leaning that way heavily - also a few thousand cheaper, which is always a good thing.

Other cars I considered:
VW Rabbit (too expensive, not reliable enough)
Saturn Astra (didn't like the look)
Honda Civic (didn't like the look)
Scion tC (decided I wanted a little bit nicer car)
Mitsubishi Lancer (wanted a nicer car, seats uncomfortable, seemed too much like a 'teenagers first car' for some reason)

Any other thoughts?

I just picked up an 04 Sequoia today. So no new car in 6 months.. I got it for a steal because I came with cash while the economy is sucking and gas prices are high. And yes I've made peace with 13mpg with gas nearing $4 a gallon

I'd say I'm averaging 16 or so in the 50 miles I've driven it.. if I had to guess.. but the mpg thing reads 13.5 as the average.

Having a new car is overated. It just took me a **** ton of money, to realize that.

I want $0 a month car payment, with that who cares about MPG.

New car, I agree - I'm looking for more the "almost new car that people had repo'd that only has 10K miles on it"

Almost new, few thousand cheaper...like those much better.

I agree here as well. But my definition of "new car" is new to me. So my "new" 1995 Honda Accord isn't technically new in any way, shape, or form. But I still call it my new car. icon_redface.gif

I think I found it.

Says it needs a new rear end, I know nothing about this stuff. Guess it is time to learn.

Okay, because of unforseen financial reasons, I probably won't be getting an S2000 any time soon. I'm a pretty sad panda now. icon_sad.gif
