sorry for double post, not sure where to post this??

Adding turn sig repeating to existing side mirrors...

they are power mirrors and are both color matched to the car...(a XR feature)

Hi I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix XR and want to keep my stock mirrors and add some LEDs to add to the fender mounted turn signal repeaters, the fender mounted ones help some and from the side but from the back I may want to add a few different ideas, I want it clean, no wires showing and none to worry about at the car wash and do not want it riced out. So suggestions...

Get a 2 inch strip here at Oznium ? And add it right on the glass of the mirror at the outside edge or bottom...or add these from here as well

http://www.oznium.com/led-modules

Or behind and make the mirror have a less direct halo effect?

Or some ebay options...

Sort of a strip

Or

Arrows

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&a...=&item=270280954657&rd=1

Or

Sort of a stick on arrow

UPDATE:

I am kind of leaning towards the adding a Oznium LED strip like 3 inches and gluing it to the inside of the mirror at the outside edge...seems like I can wire this to the pos and neg of the existing front turn signal wires, I do have the fender mounted turn signal repeaters and they are like 194 wedge incandescent bulbs so there is a little extra draw on the system now but adding a few LEDs should not overload it correct? And will it get the "rice flasher" effect, the super fast flash from the LEDs? And if so what will I need to add? A resistor? RSVP thanks!

Front Turn signals are 2357 NA euro version like 43/5 candle watt Vs 25/3 in stock

Front turn signal repeaters mounted high on front fender, just back of tire well have 2825A (Like a 194 wedge bulb but brighter and amber in color) I could go with a LED bulb here to make less draw? maybe the superbright LED? http://www.oznium.com/194

http://www.espdesign.co.uk/p255490/Clear_Oval_Side_Repeaters_for_Ford_Fiesta_Mk3_(1994-95)/product_info.html

Drill a simple hole with a unibit until it is about the size of a dine, and they adhere on very easy...changing the bulb is poping tow pop tabs and pulling the plastic splash gard back from fender and reaching in, takes 1 min tops, and the bulbs last 2 years or so, but again now for longevity but for total draw, maybe I should go LED bulbs here?

so you see any problems to the draw on the flasher?

and for the other 8 questions in the post??

what LEDs to use?

do the halo thing and backlight the mirror? or the arrows in front?

will it do a fast blink?

to lighten the draw change the bulbs in the fender mounted side repeaters to LEDs?

sorry not trying to be rude but not much of a reply....

Hey I see your 2 emails as well as forum posting, but I am a bit confused.

I'd like to help you with this project, but I'm having trouble understanding exactly what your question is.

Can you try to be more clear with your question?

I am with phil here kinda confused.

But just to let you know if you add leds to your blinker circuit you won't have a problem with over loading it. LEDS draw very little power. You will have no problems.

IMO

option one...
etch the mirror glass to have an arrow pattern and then place led's behind the mirror

option two...
just give the mirror a halo effect with the led's so it glows out of the edges

then tap the led's into the turn signal wires comming from the flasher unit. And you will have no issues.

Question explained in half Mondolphenky terms.

I want an arrow on my mirror so when I put on my blinkers it flashes with the corresponding direction.

Help?

I agree with Corvettecrazy - I would just etch the glass, doesnt have to be an arrow design, you can etch something cool into it. get creative. and post pics when your done.

Hi the first part of the post was explainig my current set up...then some choices and then what choice I am leaning twords...

I think I am going to do like the second post with the photos a halo effect... with these

and as for etching the mirror? that would have to be done from behind and I do not see a way to remove the mirror glass? it would be cool but how?

so I may just nount these modules behind the glass, any thoughts and or help?
