I'm not sure if anyone here in following these debates like I am, but I'm just looking for opinions. It's a huge thing right now, and I just want to hear how everyone is perceiving this.

Lets keep this civilized please.

You can tell Mccain has debating experience and probably deserves a shot at presidency before he get's too old. But since I am all about interesting news, I think if Obama becomes president there will be alot of people unhappy about having a black president.

I have never voted before, I don't follow politics because I think no matter who is president, we will always have problems that will affect everyone.

But my GF picked me up a piece of paper to fill out so I can vote, so to make her happy I will vote.

^I see that too. If he is elected some KKK member is going to kill him before long.

IMO Dave Chappel hit this one right on the button.

"That first n&*#&& better watch out. Hrmmm mm. If I was the first black president I would have a little security. My vice president would be mexican. That's right. You can kill me but you are just going to open the borders up. So you best leave me and Santiago here to our own selves. Isn't that right Santiago..."SI!""

I like what kevin miller said on Leno
"you know how everyone is saying mccain is gonna die in office. well biden is just as old as he is. So obama is gonna be assassinated then biden is gonna die and then nancy pelosi takes over and i move to canada."

-_- i think Mccain needs to learn to actually answer a damn question... all he did was attack Obama and kinda-sorta answer the question asked but in some round about screwed up way...

Obama at least gave an answer. I will be voting for Obama, Mccain is a joke along with his VP... their an insult to my intelligence just like bush is.

I'm an atheist and I don't vote, it's funny to watch people argue over things that don't matter. (IMO of course)

So I'm watching this thread with an unbiased eye. Political threads are the worst, and religious threads. Geesh.

I have no intentions on voting either. The way I see it..no matter who gets in there they are still going to be currupt as a mofo, waste trillions of dollars on the stupidest things, and say some of the dumbest ****.

You ever see those commercials where the firemen are like the judge and ****. That is who I want up there.

"Alot of paper work to tell us we need clean water. You want clean water guys?"
"I"
"This is the easiest job I've ever had."

"Alot of paper work to tell us that dumb **** don't know how to handle their money correctly. Think we should throw them in jail and take all their money and spread it out to the people the ****"
"I"
"Done."

Honestly if there was just some random ass fireman up there from the middle of no where with no experience I would vote for him twice. As long as he has common sense.

THAT is who I want in office. Someone with common sense. With is so entirely hard to come by these days it seams.

I wish Obama knew how many states were in his country.

And this is just my opinion remember. But to me not putting your hand over your heart or putting your hands in front of you is not showing pride to your country or the people that serve it. REMEMBER IT IS JUST MY OPINION! Don't get all fussy. Just MY view on it.

Wow.

Everyone saying they aren't going to vote should go out back and shoot themselves. You are not allowed to complain about anything happening in the US if you don't vote. If you think neither person should be elected, go and cast a vote for a third party or someone you think does deserve to be there. Saying you aren't going to vote because it doesn't matter is the reason why change doesn't happen. Half the US population doesn't vote, most likely feeling the same way you guys do. If you all would go vote for Ron Paul or whoever you think should be there, they would win.

Here is a fact: 121 million votes were cast for president among a national population of 204 million eligible voters. Those 83 million votes would have been enough to elect a third party.....

So either vote, or don't complain. Sitting on the internet whining takes a lot more time then casting a vote.

Meh. All third parties are just as bad. There is no one good enough to get in there right now imo. They all suck, all are corrupt as ****, and all don't have any common sense. Like I said, you get someone with common sense that isn't corrupt up the ass like every single politician today, then I will go vote for them. But our country has yet to see it.

For all those who are not going to vote...I dont think you should have a say in this matter as you are not exercising your right to vote and thus should not complain about either candidate.

I think McCain has realized that he might be at the end of his campaign and things are not working as he had hoped. He did not look very comfortable up on stage and almost seemed robotic in his movements.

Both candidates have skeletons in their closet just like every person in the world. If you were scrutinized for years like the candidates all your dirty laundry would end up in the public view as well.

I personally am tired of the attacks from both parties. Right now McCain has more than Obama and thus frustrates me more as I wish they would simply stick to the issues. McCain is not going to help the economy, he is going to dig us deeply into debt and a deep depression. We are already headed there and I dont think he has any policy or plan that is going to help the situation.

A 300B "rescue" to buy up bad mortgages was introduced by McCain last night. Didnt we just pass a 700B plan to partake in this? I could have swore that was mentioned somewhere when the bill was going thru the Senate or Congress?

With Social Security, Healthcare, Medicare going bankrupt someone is going to have to pay for more taxes. I really disliked that McCain stated last night that Social Security was "an easy fix". I think directly the opposite as do many strategists and people who have put off revamping the system for years because it is a MESS. I think going back to a tax braket from the Clinton administration is the best way to help us get out of the national debt we are in and bring spending under control. Too much money has been spent in areas where it should not have been.

I will be voting for Obama because of his views on Economics, the Middle Class (McCain did not say Middle Class once last night), his tax plan and his healthcare plan.

I really liked McCain prior to 2002 when he was a reformer for his party and worked heavily with both parties and had an opinion. Ever since he got on the ticket his personal views have been lost in the parties views of what they want to see. That is not the McCain that I remember and liked so much. Another turn off to McCain is his economic policies, his tax plan and his healthcare plan. I also have LITTLE faith in Palin and everytime she opens her mouth I dislike her more and more.

Attacks from both parties:
Obama:
Obama doesn't know how many states we have. He was including the territories that the US also owns.
Obama got his political start from a terrorist. He was his neighbor and associated with him to clean up his neighborhood and city. Many other people Republican and Democrat also were present at the same get togethers with Ayers as was Obama.
Obama is a terrorist and is Islamic. Obama is not a terrorist and has been in the public spotlight for years. He has worked hard as a reformer to get things for the people in his city as everyone else would. Even if he was Islamic, so? Since when does Islam make you a terrorist? Racist point if you ask me.

McCain:
-Too old to run for office. McCain is actually in good health and would most likley not have any complications in office.
-Has been in Senate for 26 years and has done nothing. No he has done things, and has reformed many issues. Stance last few years did support Bush policies more than in the past.
-Wants to bomb Iran and North Korea. Taken out of context and was a joke between friends. Obviously he would not do that and has great foreign policy experience across the board.
-4 Billion tax cut for oil companies; also not entirely true. Yes oil companies would see a tax break but other taxes they already had would be taken away and they would actually be paying more in taxes in the long run.

Palin:
-Has reformed for her city
-Did not try and ban books in the Wasilla library.

Issues I have with Palin:
-No you cant see Russia from your house and it does not give you foreign policy experience. I could see having mispoken once but defending that view on an ABC interview weeks later? Give me a break. At least admit you can learn, dont try and lie your way out of it and being close to Russia and Canada does not give you experience.
-Stop saying Obama is a terrorist and hangs around with terrorists. Your own pastor organized a witch hunt and drove a lady out of a city in Africa and continues to gloat about it up till June of this year. I'm willing to state you dont believe he is a terrorist, so stop saying Obama is guilty by association as well.
-You did support the bridge to nowhere...you are on video supporting it for your Governor run in Alaska. At least make sure there is no hard evidence before you lie, it leads us normal folk to believe you think we are idiots. Especially when you continue to use the standpoint in speeches and claim you gave the money back. Then why is there a "road to nowhere" which leads to the waters edge where the bridge would have been built?
-Stop using the fact that you have a child with a disability. You are not special, millions of Americans are in the same situation and dont gloat that they decided to have their child.

And I don't see how Obama is leading in PA. I'm not exagerating when I say I see 1 Obama/Biden yard sign for every 10 McCain/Palin yard signs.

we shoulda voted for Ralph Nader when we had the chance...

But really i think more of what obama is syaing he's going to change, is going to help the majority of us middle class americans, where as all i have seen is mccain just attacking him and beating around the bush on stage. I have yet to hear ANY of McCains views all i know is he dissagrees with pretty much everything obama says and blinks ALOT!

And I don't see how Obama is leading in PA. I'm not exagerating when I say I see 1 Obama/Biden yard sign for every 10 McCain/Palin yard signs.

It's the same way around here, but Obama is leading here too....

Did you know, if the election were held today, and each state voted the way that the polls suggest today, (including the "Toss-up States") that Obama would win 364-174 in the electoral college Only 270 is needed to win...

What change is he going to bring? And How is he going to help middle class people? What's he going to do to make this happen?

In Australia you get fined $150 if you don't vote.

And as for the debates, they both sucked last night. It was just constant bashing from either side. Neither of them answered questions. They would give about 1 minute to the actual question and then use the rest of the time to disagree with each other.
