I think Obama did a much better job at answering the questions at hand. Given they both had talking points that they reverted to in order to make the other candidate look less qualified. I did like how Obama directly answered the question from the younger black guy regarding what the bailout plan would do for him. McCain simply stated how we got in the situation, not how it would help the average citizen working 9-5 and having issues buying gas, food, paying rent or a mortgage and losing their retirement and healthcare. |

I find it funny how everyone is trying to tie him to Islam....Even if he was Islam, so? Unless you are racist and accusing all Islams of being terrorist then your claim would be simply that he is Muslim and cant be president....
I think they need to debate the issues and stop the name calling on both sides. I'm really tired of John McCain switching his position regarding the economy, he needs to pick a plan, stick with it and express how it will help the general public. Not how Obama's plan will tax the middle class, furthest from the truth which simply tells me that he reads it how he wants to see it, not for what it really is. Buying up all the bad mortgages at 100% of the rate they are at is plain DUMB. Almost anyone can tell you that your house that you are selling is not going to sell for the price it was last appraised at or for the amount you have on the loan for it. My mom's place is worth 629K...she has it listed for 539K and has only had 2 people look at it in 2 months. Using tax dollars to bail out people who should have never got loans in the first place is a horrible idea if we are going to do it at market value. The banks and loaners need to take fiscal responsibility for their mistake and learn from the poor decisions they made. By only paying 60-70% of the loan and guaranteeing it with Federal dollars is the way to go if we are going to buy up bad mortgages. Then at least the US tax payer has a small chance of recooperating some of the money and the home owner is helped out as well as the bank. But dont simply just bail the banks out and give them everything back that they want, thats just plain dumb economics. |

Lol don't get your panties up in a bunch. I think it's funny how every liberal can make fun of any politicians but one someone makes one comment about their all mighty figure, Then you here "GOD JESUS CHRIST WTF, YOU CAN"T SAY THAT>!!!!" From my point of view, liberals are **** nuts. Palin is coming to Pittsburgh today and their were all kinds of idiot white protestors holding signs saying "Obama Rocks!" "Bush Is a Nazi" etc. Like jesus hell, I don't think i've ever seen a protest held by republicans holding signs when Obama came. You guys are **** crazy. In example, Obama's buddy, William Ayers, "I'm guilty as hell, and free as a bird." "We didn't do enough." Then there's that ACORN group Obama gave $800,000 to so people can get out and vote. But now there's thousands of fake registrations. Can't democrats play fair game? Liberals are **** nuts. I think they should all move to California, Europe, or Autrailia. I think you guys would be much happier there, and it would prevent this country from be socialist.... |

^^ACORN registers both Democrat and Republicans and only those that are in the poorer bracket who might have issues registrating. Obviously their system for verifying registration is flawed. Not Obama's fault that they dont have their volunteers dont have their act together. He was simply supporting voter registration to get people to vote both Democratic and Republican.
If this is what the McCain campaign has resorted too I dont think the rats can jump ship fast enough. Sad to see McCain take this route with his campaign. |

Uhhh....yeah....."flawed". Well, I suppose that's ONE way of describing a "system" which registers DEAD people to vote.... I used to say that I'd like to be buried in Chicago, so I could remain politically active even after death. It would appear that such a relocation isn't necessary any more. |

Actually, the McCain campaign didn't break that news. The news (New York Post I believe) broke it. The McCain campaign didn't mention it first, or that much IIRC. ACORN is a joke. Obama was a "community organizer" for this group. "Federal Election Commission reports show ACORN-affiliated Citizens Services Inc. got $832,598 from the Obama campaign for get-out-the-vote work during the primaries." Yet he seems to mention he has nothing to do with ACORN. Heres a youtube video at an ACORN forum meet, he clearly knows who they are; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vJcVgJhNaU Now his "non-affiliated with Obama" ACORN group registers people who have DIED and who are UNDERAGED (7 years old). Meh... looks like he'll fit in quite well. Weather you think it's true or not, I don't know of any president that hasn't been corrupt to some degree. I think that we can agree that either one of these men will be better than the dimwit we have in office now. The election has always been the lesser of two evils. |

I think that if Barrack Obama has known about the faulty registration of voters that it should be investigated and punished.
It is never ok to register people multiple times, if they are dead etc. Obvoiusly it is a horrible system and I think is partly to blame on the state Attorney Generals who oversee elections in the states that are in question regarding the ACORN issues. And yes they are members of the Democratic Party. I think all involved should be investigated and placed in jail on voter fraud charges if wrongdoing is found to have been committed. I would consider myself more Democratic then Republican, but for me it is really about the issues at hand, not how sleazy the other candidate is. Because face it, nobody in politics these days is squeeky clean, and if they are, nobody knows their names. I did find it amusing today that Sarah Palin stated she was "found not guilty of committing any wrongdoing criminally or ethically" in the troopergate investigation. I'm pretty sure one of the first lines of the published report is that she violated Alaska Ethics Laws. I just don't understand how someone when faced with such obvious proof of the truth can flatout lie. |

I don't see how the democrats are playing an unfair game . If you've never seen a protest at a democratic rally before maybe its because the current administration, and the one we've been under for eight years now, essentially amounts to a group of war criminals, and they happen to share a party with McCain and Palin . And you know some of those personnel, as well as some of the politics, will carry over to another Republican administration . Obama's relationship to Ayers has been examined ad naseum by the media and Obama himself spoke on it in the final presidential debate . To say that Ayers is his "buddy" just means you haven't followed the news or you'd prefer to draw your own conclusions . Insofar as ACORN is concerned no one has ever tied Obama's campaign to the registration fraud that took place within that organization . They paid individuals to register new voters, on a pay-per-application basis, I believe . Some of the registrars filled out completely false applications to get paid, but they were not instructed by ACORN or by the democratic party to do so . In addition to which, since the fraudulent voters they registered are entirely fictional, they will not be voting in the election and will not effect its outcome . So for McCain to say they are perpetuating one of the greatest frauds in history that is 'destroying the fabric of democracy' is a bit silly . So really I don't see how any of this means the democrats are running an unfair game . |

Because I am sure NONE of Obamas 880,000 went to help pay those people who registered under a false name
Maybe Ayers isn't his "buddy" per say, but they sure did "hang out". Better? Atleast McCain doesn't play the "oh, I have nor had any connection with so and so" game. He admits to it. |

Its quite possible that some of it did, I'm not suggesting otherwise . I am, however, suggesting that its impossible to hold Obama's campaign responsible for the dishonesty of certain ACORN employees, since it was clearly not something that they could have known about . Even if they had orchestrated the fraud, it would -not- effect the outcome of the election one bit . It doesn't matter how many false applications its employees fill out if those people don't show up to vote then there is no effect at all on the voter record . This is as though someone like Bill Gates donates a million dollars to Red Cross . Then somewhere there's a group of Red Cross workers who decide to take a whole truck full of food and supplies bound for needy people.. and instead they steal all the supplies and sell them on E-Bay . Then you run up to Bill Gates and go, "Look at the fraud that you're perpetuating ! This is horrible, how dare you !" Clearly ol' Bill would've had nothing to do with the criminal actions of this handful of people, he as just donating to a charity . You see what I'm getting at ?
This is another connection that is being blown out of proportion for purely political gains . Obama and Ayers both served on the same board in Illinois at one point . Also, Obama once attended a reception at Ayer's residence; I believe it was quite some time ago . Obama has never expressed sympathy with Ayer's actions or views during the time he was a radical with the Weather Underground, something that happened when Obama was 7-8 years old and still running around in short pants . I would consider "hanging out" to mean they had a friendship which they maintained socially, which doesn't exactly seem to be the case . Do you really think this weak connection is somehow overwhelmingly damning of Obama's character, and that it somehow indicates he supports domestic terrorism ?
I haven't seen Obama deny the connections he had with ACORN or Ayers . Did you see the final debate ? He was challenged by McCain on these points and took the time to address the accusation and his connections . That seems like the opposite of denial . |
