Have 2 audiobahn aw1051t's (300rms 4ohm dvc) hooked up to an mtx amp (280w rms bridged)

u can trust that i have everything wired and hooked up correctly (i did my research and made sure it was done correctly)

yes the amp is UNDERPOWERING the subs by about 100-130w each (bridged, i can't hook up a single one due to Independence ratings)

Turn the radio on to tune, slowly turning up the gain, all of a sudden a constant loud boom.

Nothing i change changes this result.

Any help?

1. dont turn the gain up.
2. your RCA's are ****, or are hooked up wrong.

checked rca's over and over, tried different sets...it's not the rca's....

the gain is the ONLY way on this amp to adjust output to subs...there is no sound if i dont turn it up

I'd say there is many things that could cause this..

Bad output from the CD player..
Bad RCA connections (i know you said you checked it)
Bad speaker wire..
Bad subs/Amp

Its hard without hearing the actual noise they are making.

deck is brand new and worked with an amp and sub prior to this set, same with teh rca's
speaker wire is the same situation.

No noise comes from the subs untill i start to turn up the gain, once i hit a certain spot the subs just make a loud constant boom. instead of what it should do (hit the notes with the song)

amp is said to run 4ohms bridged, so i have the subs wired to 2 ohms each. correct me if i'm doin that part wrong

i have the 2 subs wired so that it puts a combined load of 4 ohms. 2ohm+2ohm would = 4om correct?

here is how i have them wired the only difference is rather than sharing a single line for positive and a single line for negative, they each have an independent line that is combined at the amp.: User posted image

the amp only supports 2 ohm and 4 ohm loads.

i can fairly quickly rewire one of the subs so it puts out a 2 ohm load User posted image

and test it with only one hooked up to the amp if this is advisable?
