http://www.oznium.com/thin-led-domelight

Available in four sizes:
1.5" x 1.0"
1.5" x 1.5"
2.0" x 2.0"
5.0" x 1.5"

on the front one the one next to the sunroof control I measured a space of 2.5 X 1.5 so I would use the 1.5" x 1.5" I belive...

...I see folks with XB using the XL sized one the 5.0 x 1.5 I think that will just fit, the total lenth of the dome cover is 5.0...so it will be tight inside the plastic cover is a border, a plastic lip that has a 2.5 X 4 inch ID so should I just stay in this boundry? Any idea on how similar the XB dome light is to the Matrix, seems smart if Toyota kept it the same....RSVP thanks!

Questions...anyone use these? I think the product should be good as my experences here at Oznium has been good..

maybe take a dremmel and trim that inside "lip" on the dome light cover?

Suggestions?

The dome lights are very bright. I would measure the opening and see what will fit. I would avoid trimming the cover as you may not get it back into the proper place to secure it to the roof and find it falling down occassionally.

If the cover is 5.0 I would get the 5.0X1.5 and sqeeze it in there.

I wrote the same info above to Customer Service (the info includes my measurements) and they responded,

"You need to measure"?

I'm glad so far you experiences have been good with us. That is very important to our company.

I do not know if the xBs and the Matrix dome light covers are the same. It would be best to measure it to be sure.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I gave you the measurements and was looking for a recommendation instead of

Phil,

Not trying to insult you, trying to buy from you, just want the best one for the job...

It may not have been canned but it very much seemed like you did not READ my email...I had measured it and included the dimensions and got back "It would be best to measure it to be sure.”???

That would lead you or anyone to believe I did not explain my measurements well or the person answering did not read the question...

SO for Map light in front it has

An opening of 2.5 X 1.5 so I would use the 1.5" x 1.5" I believe... please RSVP wit a recommended size...

AND in the center and back there are 2 domes lights, both the same size...at:2.5 X 4 inch ID but the cover mounts only at the 2 sides and at the border so the cover does not seem to get in the way of a 1x5 LED board as the OD of the dome cover is 3X5...I will try and send photos as well if that will help, I just do not want to have to do a return, you will be answering several Matrix owners besides me....sort of a database...also I will post it on 2 Matrix Forums and send them your way...I know you can not measure every car yourself, but this may be worth it??

Last question and this is policy, if I order the 1x5 and it does not fit can I send it back for exchange?

CJ,
I see your order and to that I assume you have received my response via our customer service E-Mail. I'm glad you have decided to purchase the LED Dome Light, and if for some reason it does not fit we will be happy to exchange it for a different size. Apologies again for the confusion in our E-Mail responses.
Sincerely,
Danny

If it wont fit let Phil or the guys at Customer support know and they will make sure you get what you need to get the job done.

I would say go smaller than the 5.0 but its a bigger downstep to the next available size. Again these are very bright so it would still work for your application if you need to downsize.

I have 3 in my truck that are 2x2 or 3x3 and my girlfriend hates them, claims they are too bright icon_wink.gif

Hi Charles -

Please accept my apologies for the original confusion. I would like to help you with this project.

Yes, for a space of 2.5" x 1.5", I'd recommend our 1.5" x 1.5" ultra thin dome light.

For the larger opening, I am almost certain the 5.0" x 1.5" will work.

Thank you for your recent order.

You will be pleased to know we have a generous 365 day return policy and 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Finally, I'm down in So Cal for the night and I'd love to check out the Matrix and discuss your future LED plans. Going to Maki Maki Sushi at the Irvine Spectrum around 6. Shoot me an email if you're available and I'll buy you dinner.

Cheers!

all I had to do was pop off the dome light cover, pop out the dome light mount from the head, iner, (it just pops out very easy) trim away som e of the grey plastic from the edge with a dremmel or even just using wire cutters...and the 1x5 works great bright and very cool , thanks Phil and Danny great product and great customer service!!
