I might end up doing that this weekend, since i've got nothing else better to do.

How dark do you think I should go? I was probably going to go maybe about 25%-30% dark all around.

but let me know what you think?

Quote:
Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 35% of light in.

Right from the site, So how dark can it be for it to still be legal?

From that your front drivers and front passenger sides can be 50% and your back window and back side windows can be 35%.

I say screw it and go 15% all around except on the windshield.

Pretty dark. I got pulled and ticketed for 20 all the way around.

I hope you know what you are doing. As that back window I will put money down that it won't come out good. Unless you are experienced in tinting that back window is sucky.

15% is just dark enough that you can BARELY see inside when it's light out. But all you do see is silhouettes and no details. When it's dark outside, no one is going to see in.

Car mechanics aren't pro window tinters. I will tell you what if you can tint the back window by yourself and make it look good you get a cookie. If you have never tinted before I will put money down it doesn't come out with no bubbles/looking good.

160 was the ticket.

According to your laws you can have:
50% front passenger and driver
35% rear passenger and driver
35% rear window
no reflective tint or window tint

I had 15% reflective on the stang
The truck has 18% stock on back window and back side windows, I retinted over it with 15% so its now roughly ~4% and my driver and passenger are 15% black. I am exempt from state law regarding window tint though.

If your state law is 50% I would stick with 50% which is not going to be very much at all. Anything darker and it will be noticeable and you could get a cite.

Will look darker, may or may not be cited depending on the officers discretion. Is illegal though and you could receive a cite for it.

35% is usually what you see on stock vehicles from the factory.

After I took the tint off yes. But that was 200 dollars down the drain as I paid to have it professionally done so it looked good.

Im 18% All around. Im Def gonna redo my rear window and make it 5%, when the sun is right behind me it glares on the tv real bad. I know 18% is an odd % but thats what it is, box even said so. Local tint place hooked me up (I know owner) got my whole truck + Windshield strip and decals for a cool 100 flat. Gave the tinter an extra 20 for a fine job.

Law is 35%. I have never been pulled over and Ive had it since Feb.

If you go below legal limit.... good luck. My Friend had 5% all around. MO State trooper gave him 2 choices. Impound the car or remove the tint... and I mean right there on the side of the road, the Trooper gave him a scrapper (Razor blade on a stick) and 30mins later he had no tint on his car except back window (he had a 2dr Lexus). Trooper gave him a seatbelt ticket and sent him on his way.

In Missouri if your registered as a Historic car your exempt from window tint laws.. I also know if you have certain eye conditions you can get a script that lets you have darker tint.. dunno how dark I assume the script will determine that, and you have to have it approved from the State troopers office before you can dip below the legal limit.

It really depends on how picky your cops are. my car is a 5% eyebrow, 20% in the rear, 35% in front. personally i'm getting unhappy with the front, but the rest i still like.

Same reason patrol vehicles are exempt. Do to transportation of gear/weapons it is pertinent that people are not able to see in the vehicle to steal or vandalize such equipment.

So my dad should be allowed to be exempt for having company equipment in his work truck? My grandpa should be exempt because he has a permit to carry?

I should be exempt for the illegal transfer of drugs? I should be exempt for the transfer of perscription drugs? Okay, those are jokes.

But seriously my grandpa and dad should be exempt too with their vehicles and they aren't. I just think thats another reason why "cops think they are above the law".

Now this is in no way pointed AT you or TOWARDS you. Just an opinion. I really don't mind you, haha.

Police Officers, Corrections Officers etc do not think they are above the law, if anything they are held to a higher standard in both their professional lives and private lives. Your grandpa and father don't regularly transport city equipment of a dangerous nature that could cost lives and lead to possible crimes. If at anytime an individual feels that the laws should be changed they should contact their local representative or congressman/congresswoman.

Nothing personal against you either, its always nice to have people ask for interpretation regarding laws for states. This may not be the same as in your state as well.
