I own a nice home in a nice part of town and im surrounded by a bunch of old people (im only 22). I have a neighbor on my street hows gung-ho McCain. Shes goes door to door with the phamplets, talking about voting etc etc....
Today I come home, Her 3 McCain/Palin signs are gone... And there are 3 Obama/Biden signs in there place.. First though, someone swapped them out on her as a prank. But Nope! She was outside and I jokily said "Voting for change now?". She looked over and said "I made a mistake the last two elections and voted for Bush, I'm not making the same mis stake again". Now I follow the debates and such and I have pro/cons on both parties. Figure McCain gonna die (old age) and Obama gonna die too (get shot). So I figure this election were pretty much voting on a VP, Im really like Biden and I'm all for Obama too but come on... a black president? Im not racist but there are too many out there that are for him to not get assassinated. Im just curious why all the sudden she has a change of heart. I looked up news and did not see anything outta the norm about McCain today... And I dont wanna get stuck in a 2 hour talk with her to find out why she did (shes a big talker since shes all alone and old). Anyone else see the McCain signs going down and the Obama going up? All I see is Obama hats/pins/shirts out there... not so much McCain. |

Ask her when you are driving by and she is outside. Roll down your window, and say "why the change?" After she gives her answer say, "oh no, low on gas, gotta go"

Both candidates say things that make people change their mind. McCain said something last debate that made me hate him.
But, a vote for one is a vote against another. |

New things with McCain:
-Attack campaign not working -McCain stopped crowd members from bashing Obama stating he was a good person and family man, not exactly the same thing his campaign has been stating the last few days. I give him props for doing this as that is the McCain that I remember before the elction started. -Economic crisis which notoriously benefits Dems and not Republicans -Sarah Palin found to have violated Alaska ethics laws regarding personal and professional issues. -McCain campaign stating that the Sarah Palin investigation was partisan and not true and that she would answer all questions about the inquiry. Problem is the panel was 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats, probe investigation started before she was selected for VP and she has denied to testify or speak about the matter. -Statments that Obama is a terrorist and hangs out with them have not gone well for the McCain campaign and have backfired as many are concentrating on the Economy. |

I'm really sick of hearing this . Also, you should never preface a statement with "I'm not racist, but .." |

Well its the truth, Im not a raciest, and there are tons of people out there who are. Im also in the same boat as you when people talk about him getting killed.. gets old. But look around, theres some seriously crazy people out there who would love to get in the history books by taking down the first black president. |

EXACTLY. More money WILL be in the DEMS pockets. Less for the republicans. The dems pushed it hard, and with all the bribes were offered, most of the remaining people (dem/repub) voted towards it. I blame the media for this election though. They prepped nObama 2 years ago for this ride. Give them 6 months if he gets in and they will start ripping him apart. You never see any negative information on the news or any news channels/magazines/papers, etc. It is ALL McCain / Palin. Like this whole deal with Obama and ACORN, Rezko, and Ayers? Voter Fraud, funding campaigns, and killing the economy with ayers. I wish I had a portion of this speech (what sounded like obama), man it was SO anti-whites. |

I can't argue there are people out there that would like to see harm done to Obama, but I'm sure that's historically been true of any president . There are entire foreign governments that would probably applaud the assassination of the US president, this one or the next . Despite that, the secret service has been able to safeguard the man in the white house for over forty years . Do I feel there's a somewhat elevated risk for Obama if he becomes president ? Yes . Although it may be statistically significant I don't think its anywhere near certain and I don't think it should effect who you vote for . To vote by the expectation of assassination would be to let terrorists influence you before they even act .
I'm really confused here, but its hard for me to keep up with all the things going on in the news . Why do you say the economic crisis benefits democrats ? I assume you mean politicians affiliated with the Democratic party and not just average people who happen to be democrats ? How is it benefiting them and why do you say "notoriously" so ? Secondly, I haven't seen a single article circulating in the media about bribes being offered to pass the bail-out bill, did I miss a story or something ? Also, it was the Republicans in the House of Representatives that originally sunk the bail-out bill, not the Democrats . Third, the media prepped Obama 2 years ago for a presidential campaign ? You mean it prepared the candidate himself or their viewing audience ? I don't see how the media would be grooming Obama.. and I don't recall seeing much of Obama in the news before the Democratic candidates got rolling for this campaign . I agree they'll rip him apart though, regardless of how he performs . We like to do that.. build people up and then tear them down . |

I agree with ya Cooper. My voting has nothing to do with who might die first, but I do believe that the VP of whoever wins will become the President and it wont involve any impeachments if you catch my drift. I like Obama and I like Biden so my votes with him and even if I did not like Biden I would still vote Obama and hope he does last the whole term.

I see about 15 signs for every 2 obama signs. I don't get it because he's leading in PA?
Was it Dave Schappel that said Obama should have picked a Mexican VP? So when Obama gets shot, there will be a mexican as VP, and the borders will open up. And all these people saying he's going to get shot, I guess that's why he's the most liberal in the senate when it comes to gun control. One bullet can change history.... |
