I've always gotten my gas at Shell. I've just figured it's best to always get it from the same chain for consistency purposes. In the last few weeks, both of the Shell stations near me have closed; one being replaced with BP and the other with Marathon. The only other place in town to get gas is a Huck's truck stop.

Which should I start going to? Or, does it even matter? Do they actually have different blends of fuel, or is it all from the same trucks?

i think bp uses something, or maybe that was shell but can't remember. I get it cause it's cheaper then the rest of the places around me. i don't think matters too greatly though.

Get a Marathon credit card for your gas. You get 5% off your gas when you purchase from Marathon. After you get $25 of savings, they send you a Marathon gift card. You're going to spend money on gas anyways, you might as well save money.

its very true that some gas stations have higher quality gas than others... gas on base is super cheap but in quality as well.

bp has the same card, however the first 60 days or so it is 10% and everything you buy so long as its not at another gas station has cash back too.

Depends on the car, really.

I can't put anything but the best in the PT, otherwise it gets ornery. Hates anything w/ ethanol.

Same goes for the Volvo, it's a turbo as well (and old).

Tempo doesn't give a ****.

I have a coworker that had a 305 TBI Caprice, that had to run it on ethanol-less premium, otherwise it ran like ****.

Well, with Shell out of the picture, BP is the next most common station around. I'll test out my MPG from there and see how it compares. I tested with Shell not long ago and got about 26 on average.

I use 87 octane, mostly from Shell since its closest to my house. If not there then BP since its across the street from my job and I get free fountain drinks! lol

it started to make my engine light turn on and a mechanic told me to use some cheap gas because that invigorate stuff can acually create a film "not permantly" on some of the sensors, but it never stalled out or ran worse.

Don't really know what I get for gas. Typically just siphon from my neighbor. I think I saw his car @ Mobil once.

i always get it from mobil. my auto tech class did a gas study last year where we tested 40 different stations in Ohio. over 2/3 of the stations failed the octane test. but all of mobil's stations passed so that's why i go there

Guys gas does not matter at all where you get it, gas is gas!
There may be a consistency difference but that is a fraction of a fraction of a difference.
Ethanol sometimes my not be used because it is made from corn and certain vehicles just will not take it

Certain types of gas may be cheaper like
Ex: regular gas is one price but Silver or Ethanol may be cheaper because it has 10% Ethanol (may be higher) but it really makes no difference because you get worse gas mileage than regular.
(not including high Octane gas or Premium)

So all in all your best bet is just get what you choose
Regular- better mileage
Silver- Cheaper but worse mileage
