So I work for the Dallas Cowboys Merchandising Department and we have 2 18 Wheelers that imo need some glow. I was wondering what would be the best item to put on a 18 wheeler.

Go cheap since you're going to need a few. Check out oznium's blaze kit.

Are you looking for underglow or what?

Underglow Single color - Beefy strips
Underglow 7 Color - Blaze kit
Underglow Million color - ICELED UFO

Under counters/glass... Piranha bars

Definitely decide what you're talking about doing and then we can help more.

Cowboys colors man.

Get say....2 white Flowlighting Single color kits, and get 2 blue single color kits...

And than just alternate white and blue along the sides.

Just an idea.

It is all about what you want... SOLID colors? wanting options of different strobe/fade effects?

Clean lines?

The beefy are really afforable and BRIGHT

I would assume that the truck already has decent paint on it... I would recommend blue Underbodies of some sort... if you don't want them to strobe/change colors/ do patterns, I would just go with the beefies.

The downside of course is cost.... with the beefies you are looking approx $1,000 per trailer to encompass the whole trailer (Side, Side, and rear) with the beefy LED strips

Actually, after doing the following table, the beefies are actually the cheapest to do as well.

ESTIMATES FOR 116 feet (53'+53'+10')
Keep in mind that this would be PER TRAILER

Beefy LED strips - $1,000
Piranha bars - $1,120
Flowlighting Single Color - $1,160
Flowlighting Blaze 7 Color - $1,392
Flowlighting V1 - $1,820
Flowlighting V2 - $3,075
ICELED UFO - $7,560

^^Made me lol hahahahah

props to mx for doing the calculations. I would say go with the Piranha bars. They use super flux leds which are brighter than the beefies. And that is where you could be running into a problem as the semis trailers are pretty high off the ground. And you are going to need pretty bright leds to really see them on the ground. Sounds like a fun project man be sure to post pics when it is complete.

I'll second this notion, when looking at the price of the Piranha's per foot, it would look a lot better, and would be cleaner to have those over the beefy's... and, if you wanted to you could alternate between blue and white or whatever, every 20". If you want to alternate the beefy's you would need to do them every 6', so there isn't as much options with colors.

The beefy strips wouldn't look very good if they could be seen, the Piranha's would be a much cleaner and more professional looking install.

And, on the bright side, Oz has at least 140 of white and 140 of blue Piranha bars in stock... so you could do that and have them in a couple days. (that price assumes 70 bars for each trailer.)

Oz doesn't have enough Beefy strips in stock to do both trailers. 20-6' lengths would be required per trailer. Oz has 30 blue and 5 white Beefy 6-foot strips in stock (assuming their online inventory is correct)

The piranha bars are not waterproof. If you decide to use something similar, use the SMD bars as they are waterproof. We do offer wholesale pricing on large quantities. Please check here: http://www.oznium.com/wholesale

Good call on the Wholesaling... I forgot about that.

But for the difference in price, I would still go for the Piranha bars, and just buy a tube of silicone or GOOP brand sealant with a gun, and sit down and seal each one...

Looks like they'd be easy to seal.

SMD bars are SUPER EASY to daisy chain as well. They're an excellent choice.

I have a couple of Piranha bars, but no SMD bars. Yes, the Piranha bars would be fairly easy to seal, i would rather not deal with the hassle and if a SMD bar goes out, it is still covered under warranty.
