I saw the post about the Scion tC install. It mentions a lot of drilling. Is there any way to install this on a tC without drilling, or is that required?

You could use Heavy Duty Zip Ties to install the kit but I would recommend you do some drilling in order to get it secured to the vehicle so you wont have any issues.

However like I said, you can use heavy duty zip ties, just be aware that with bumps you may end up having a tube fall off. Check them preiodically to make sure none have come loose.

I installed the Inferno V2 on my tC and it didn't require a massive amount of drilling. After I drilled my holes, I put silicone sealant in the hole before putting the screw in to seal it. If you do that you won't have any problems.

combination of both. If you look in my gallery you can see the side tubes and where they are mounted (to the frame rails). I drilled 2 holes and ran a zip tie thru them then around the tube. The screws would not work with that thick of metal for me. The rear tube is mounted to the metal plate in front of the spare tire as I didnt have enough room to mount it back by the bumper and again, is drilled and then zip tied. Front tube is drilled and zip tied as well on the frame.

Drill Baby Drill. There is a perfect slot in the underside of the side skirt that you can drill into and then I think even snap off the black plastic door sill trim to access the area you drilled into and attach nuts to the back for a better hold.

Ok, so I'll go ahead and drill it.

About the front tube...On the same page I read about the drilling it mentions you have to cut some plastic. I can't see where the person cut the plastic in the pictures icon_confused.gif

O lord. I would just take the plastic out to be honest and mount the tube in the white foam shock absorber above the bottom grille. That way you have grille glow and don't have to deal with that ****.

Alright thanks, is there anything else you guys/girls know that could make it a better/easier install? I want it to look clean and pro and I've never done this before so any secrets would help...

Just keep everything neat and orderly and don't get ahead of yourself. Take your time doing it and don't half-ass anything and you should be fine.

And if I were you, I wouldn't try to do it without drilling.

I found a way to make it so that the tubes can stay on permanently with minimum drilling. At a local home depot buy iron clamps (2 bucks each) and drill them into the car. 2 for the side tubes. (For TC's the front kit and the back come into the slots. Wire the kit into the car. And have some electricty flow into the iron clamps so that when u turn on your glow. It creates a magnetic flow through the clamps making it stronger. and Stick to the car. (works very well with 9500 volt transformers aka Streetglow Gold Series Underglow Neon Kit)

That's what I thought too.

So... applying voltage to the metal clamps will cause them to stick to the car due to the electromagnetic field. That's pretty clever. But what happens when you turn your car off? Will the clamps and the tubes fall off the car?

Could you educate me on what you mean by removing the plastic part on the front? Does that piece come off easy or require cutting it all out?

Oh, and where do you tC owners mount the Remote Display? I was thinking cubby hole area but..?

I found these Iron clamps at Home Depot that are Magnetic. They COULD serve as a non drilling solution. BUT it's not a strong magnetic field (I'm sure there are stronger ones elsewhere). But the ones i have are magnetic. I drilled them in but if you get a strong one i guess you dont have to.

4 ties on the sides and 3 on the front/back should be sufficient.
