I'm tired of the way Bush has run this country into the ground...and you KNOW McCain will just follow suit. Did everyone forget his views before he was even a presidential hopeful? McCain is nothing but a rich elitist that cares only for his rich cronies....just like Bush.

Obama give out actual figures, statistics and true plans for our country....McCain just spits out empty promises.

Hmmm.......3/4 socialist, or totally socialist...

Decisions, decisions, decisions....

I'm voting for Bob Barr.

(since Ron Paul isn't on the ballot, and write-ins are a waste of ink in Nebraska)

MODS, THIS IS ALL FACT AND NOT AN ARGUMENT, JUST BRINGING UP POINTS. PLEASE LEAVE OPEN.

After months of actually listening and doing some research, I am supporting Palin...so McCain.

I actually believe in the Constitution, therefore, I am voting Palin...so McCain.

Why do I mention the Constitution? Oh yeah, Obama has yet to give his birth certificate. I thought, according to the Constitution, you needed to be 35 (which he obviously is) and also in Article II, Section 1 it states that "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President".

Recently, there was a lawsuit in PA (among multiple other states), against Obama regarding where he was born. Obama had 30 days to respond (Judge order) with a birth certificate, or it will be ruled that Obama's citizenship is in fact in Kenya. Obama appealed it and the other judge threw it out saying it was "too vague and too attenuated to confer standing on him or any other voters." How the hell this works, I don't know. According to the Constitution, you NEED TO BE A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN! HE HAS YET TO PROVE THIS!" Will this be brought to Supreme Court? I sure hope so.

As to Obama giving out actual facts, you are correct...in one way. He SAYS them. ****, I can say things too. Has anyone done research on his tax plans? His environmental plans? If he wants tax breaks for 95% of Americans, how do the other 5% plan on making up the remains that us middle class "no longer" have to pay. This is ridiculous! There is NO WAY that this is even feasible!

Lets take a look at the current Bush administration. You say it sucks, huh? I am agreeing, partly. The Bush administration set a plan for tax cuts that expires in 2010. He decreased both the capital gains tax and inheritance tax. This expires in 2010 and Obama doesn't plan on renewing them but he plans on raising both of them to 30-35%. The capital gains tax is a tax on stocks, bonds, real estate or any capital asset. Say you "flip" a house. The profit you made from that will be taxed at a higher rate with the Obama admin. Say you make a profit with stocks. When you want the money, you will be taxed. Obama wants to RAISE THIS! This also goes for any 401K that is stock based.

You blame the Bush administration for all this. Do you blame them for the current bank bail-out issues, too? Andrew Cuomo, who was secretary of HUD (Housing for Urban Development), wanted Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to increase the amount of risky loans being taken out. Clearly, they knew the risks. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this; The Clinton Administration appointed Andrew Cuomo! Therefore, the Bush Admin DID NOT CAUSE THIS!

ps: Voting is one of the best rights we currently have. People fought for our right to vote, that's what makes us a democracy. We do have a say. The numbers don't magically appear. They are people (like you and I) who took the 10 minutes out of their schedule to go and exercise their right to vote. How and why people do this, I don't know. Nothing personal against anyone, but not voting is crazy! That and plus it gives me a good reason to complain when whoever gets in, gets in. I had a say.

The end.

^well said.

We need to adopt the rule that Australia has where you have to pay a fine if you don't vote.

And I really don't understand how people can support Obama with all the dirt on him. It's like they just brush all that bad stuff aside and say it's time for "change." Let's support a candidate that has one of the worst histories I've ever seen, makes fun of the middle class worker that he supposed supports, and has little experience compared to most.

Check your facts? http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp
Birth Cert: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn227/Polarik/BO_Birth_Certificate.jpg

Also, McCain is under similar questions: http://www.snopes.com/politics/mccain/citizen.asp

P.S. I don't vote, but if I did, it would for the lesser of the two evils (which is McCain).

That's exactly it. Barack has been marketed so well by simply saying "he's not Bush". Soooo many people hate Bush right now that all you have to do is say "we do too" and you get their support.

Brandon -

I was reading earlier today about the differences between Obamas certificate of birth and other Hawaiian COB's for that year. For "Africans", they actually did not use that term. They either used Black or Negro. I'll see if I can find that to back up my issue.

Also, the Snopes you posted is regarding his mother's age when she had him resulting in him not being a citizen. I'm pointing out that he has yet to give up his Birth Certificate which is different from a Certificate of Live Birth.

I am well aware of McCains issue, too.

Haha, i can't believe you said that.

Again, check your facts.

The economic problems started with the Iraq war, which we all know was started by a **** clown. Check these stats out Ryan...

Quote:

U.S. SPENDING IN IRAQ

Spent & Approved War-Spending - About $600 billion of US taxpayers' funds. In June 2008, President Bush signed a bill approving about 200 billion more for 2008, which brings the cumulative total to close to $800 billion.

U.S. Monthly Spending in Iraq - $12 billion in 2008

U.S. Spending per Second - $5,000 in 2008 (per Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on May 5, 2008)

Cost of deploying one U.S. soldier for one year in Iraq - $390,000 (Congressional Research Service)

Lost & Unaccounted for in Iraq - $9 billion of US taxpayers' money and $549.7 milion in spare parts shipped in 2004 to US contractors. Also, per ABC News, 190,000 guns, including 110,000 AK-47 rifles.

Missing - $1 billion in tractor trailers, tank recovery vehicles, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and other equipment and services provided to the Iraqi security forces. (Per CBS News on Dec 6, 2007.)

Mismanaged & Wasted in Iraq - $10 billion, per Feb 2007 Congressional hearings

Halliburton Overcharges Classified by the Pentagon as Unreasonable and Unsupported - $1.4 billion

Amount paid to KBR, a former Halliburton division, to supply U.S. military in Iraq with food, fuel, housing and other items - $20 billion

Portion of the $20 billion paid to KBR that Pentagon auditors deem "questionable or supportable" - $3.2 billion

Number of major U.S. bases in Iraq - 75 (The Nation/New York Times)
http://usliberals.about.com/od/homelandsecurit1/a/IraqNumbers.htm

Regardless of the statistics, I will vote for Obama/Biden for the fact that I'm all for universal health care, no middle class tax raises, and that we NEED to get out of Iraq. Now that's A LOT of money, which WE pay for. I'm glad you don't mind paying taxes for the **** overseas.

People, including Joe Biden, mentioned "He'll be tested", and everyone relates to Kennedy. In case people didn't pay attention in History class, Kennedy also WON the Cuban missile crisis. Why? Because he wasn't an idiot, and actually could take alternative ideas from his advisers, which the Republicans don't seem to know how to do anymore.

Sick, this is my personal opinion and I don't intend on changing your vote...but;

Universal health care can only be paid one way; Tax hikes. Where does this tax money come from? Us. Remember; health care is not free nor will it ever be.

Which leads to my next point; no middle class tax hikes. How so? There are 40% (of Obamas 95%) that already don't pay taxes because they are either on services or get some form of help. That leaves 55% with "no tax hikes", but if you read my long post above, starting with "Lets take a look...", you will see that Bush decreased our Investment and Cap Gain tax. If you ever make a profit when you sell a house, you will make less of one due to the increase in the cap gain tax. Maybe by that time Obama (if he gets in) will be out and you can thank him for "no tax increases for middle class". Maybe it is because us young adults don't all own houses yet, so it sounds good on paper.

As for the war, everyone knows we cannot pull out. The Dem's know this, too. Believe it or not. They say this to win over votes of those who are very against the war. Them saying this made you want to vote for them, didn't it? See how that works?

If we decrease the amount of money given to our military, our military will weaken. This is the last thing we need at a time like this. Europe's terror level is Red, what does this mean for us. You never know what may come down the road. Look at the test Bush had. What's to say that's not going to happen again?

I bet if you were serving in the military, you would have a different look on some of this. How many people serving think it's "****"?

Honestly, if Obama wasn't a US born citizen, I think we would know about it by now. Do you really, honestly think that things would have gotten this far without proof he is a Natural Born US Citizen?

Yup, 100%. He has yet to show his Birth Certificate and his Certificate of Live Birth that his campaign produced is widely believed to be a forgery. Even the hospital that he was supposedly born at said it wasn't theirs.

Do you realize how much money would be wasted on the universal health care? Doctors will get paid less, and the quality of health care will decrease. Please, look at Canada. Many Canadians come to the US for our health care, even if they do have to pay. Please, go sit in an ER for one day. Please look and notice how many people come for painkillers and runny noses. The government pays for those painkillers that they are addicted to. These numbers will only increase after universal health care.
You don't like high taxes? Well, where is the money for all this going to come from? Healthcare for non-tax paying illegals? Thats ass-backwards.

Amen. Inspiring medical students may not want to go to med school anymore if they won't be able to pay off their school loans until 30 years later because the government steps in and tells them how much they'll be making. BS.

The opposite of progress is congress. Nothing good comes out when the government gets involved...

I am voting for McCain/Palin.

Lots of reasons, but the biggest, is with the "war" going on a person like McCain should be at the helm.

Now, even though I vote, I don't think America's votes really count. I think there's a lot of corruption going on...

Im not going to get into a political debate...cause it just spells disaster....but to address healthcare having seen it first hand....we already have a universal health care system...its call poor people dont pay, tax money makes up for it already.

Does anyone honestly think that if you walk into an ER with an injury you wont be seen? There are Federal Laws against it.

Palin is a moron and a disgrace to the ticket. If McCain had chosen a better running mate he would actually have a shot.

Amen... the old saying "Pay me now or pay me later" comes to mind.

My son had an infection in the side of his face, his mom called me and asked what that it wasn't responding to medication, and what to do. We decided to take him to the ER and get it looked at. Without medical insurance, we knew good and well we couldn't pay the bill, but we went, got it looked at, and got some prescriptions to help it.

That's what has to be done at times. I don't like it any more than anyone else, but I don't have a choice.

People do this all the time. America can either have an ORGANIZED "guaranteed universal health care" or have the current unorganized mess we have now. You either pay me now, in the form of taxes to run an organized system, or pay me later in the form of insurance premiums and higher doctors bills from the private health care industry recovering losses from non-payment.

Think of it this way, if we didn't have a food stamp program, people would steal from stores/vendors to get food. You can either pay in the form of taxes to fund food stamps, or pay in the form of higher food prices from places like wal-mart building in a specific loss percentage into every item.

but to address healthcare having seen it first hand....we already have a universal health care system...its call poor people dont pay, tax money makes up for it already.

Does anyone honestly think that if you walk into an ER with an injury you wont be seen? There are Federal Laws against it.

I too am not getting into this. But I bring up this question (BlueStang, don't feel obligated to answer this, it's more of a question to think about); if there's already a universal healthcare system (as stated), why make a more expensive one? Since one already exists, why make one that's going to cost the hard working taxpayers more money?

Voting is a waste of time in my opinion.

What tipped me off (other than the news) was the constant creation of threads on Oznium, these stupid mudslinging commercials that they air NON STOP, and we get about three automated political calls a day at home. biglaugh.gif

It's beyond annoying. I hate politics, and if I had to choose a party I would be Libertarian.

I can ***** all I want. Our gov is corrupt as ****. More than any of us know(which is sad as hell). Both of them are **** stupid. We spend money that we don't have in the dumbest ways. Our gov doesn't do **** for us. Just their pockets. I would rather have a 3 year old with common sense running our country. I don't believe any of these jackasses are fit to run our country. Your votes don't really matter anyway. It is the electoral votes that decide. **** our gov. **** Obama. **** McCain.

Someone get me a Tylenol.

You could always close your eyes and do the "eynee meeny miny mo" pick. And pretty sure I spelled that wrong. Or ask the person next to you, kinda like when you cheated in school.

Cheating in school was always beneficial to me. Having one of these jack offs in office is going to have a negative effect on me in some form or another.

Justin. Damnit. lol. I shoulda seen that coming.

If Obama really wants to redistribute the wealth he should take his millions and give it out. Leave my **** money alone. McCain no matter what he says is another bush. You say how well THAT worked out. And never before have I seen so many bumper stickers saying he is the devil. And I agree fully.

IMO if you don't vote, you don't belong in America. I voted for the first time this year and I'll be voting in every election until I die.
