Keep it clean guys.

At this point, CNN is projecting Obama 174 and McCain at 49.

Democrats also just took majority of Senate.

Things are looking good.

CNN says 174 to 64 now...

To be honest, I'm really not surprised by the results thus far

I voted, Took at most 15min in and out.. Seen some reports of lines like 3-4 hours long... man that must really suck.

Even got a little sticker that says "I Voted" Good for free coffee from Starbucks, Doughnuts from Krispy kreme, ice cream from ben and jerry's and several other items from various companies.... No free gas though... guess prices are to low.. lol

If you vote awesome! if you dont vote.. hey your awesome too! Just do those of us who voted a favor.. shut the **** up! When you wanna ***** about how the ecomony or any other issue thats normally blamed on the President... Just remember what you did today.. and thats nothing! I feel if you dont vote, then you give up your right to ***** later on when you dis-agree with something and wanna blame the President.

What a joke. They just predicted states with 0% of the vote. Haha, why bother waiting for the polls to even close?

Ug I couldn't make up my mind honestly.. this is the first election I could vote in.. but didn't, I kind of feel like a loser about it.
However, honestly from what I've heard/ seen, both candidates didn't seem like the best choice at all. Who is? Who's to say, but niether of them.. and I sure wasn't gonna go spend my time voting green party lol.

He did now

From Yahoo News..
McCain called his former rival to concede defeat and the end of his own 10-year quest for the White House. "The American people have spoken, and spoken clearly," McCain told disappointed supporters in Arizona.

Same for every election, Agree on issues with both of them and Disagree on Issues with both of them. You just gotta think what affect you more and vote accordingly.. Unfortunately you always get good & bad things with both, only way to be 100% Satisfied is to be elected Pres yourself.

Good point. Coincidentally, military members fall under almost all of the catergories that you listed.

And yes, it's the media, don't believe it. They basically said Obama won the west without any of their votes turned in and recorded yet. They colored the states blue before <1% of the votes were in. That's ridiculus, even though it's true now, it got pretty annoying people saying OMG OBAMA WON when not even 1% of the votes were turned in.

Oh god.. we have a G as our president. Unbelievable. Goodluck to him. Praise Jesus.

Here at campus, people are going crazy! Police everywhere, its crazy. Although I'm not African American,I'm still extremely happy.

This proves that racism is dieing in America.

Although I voted for Obama today, and I'm glad he's President Elect, I would have been just as content with McCain as President Elect. They both pressed issues that need fixing and I admit both sounded promising in certain aspects, and on other issues I was a little speculative.

But as long as this means W. is finally packing his **** up and getting out. YESS!!

EDIT: So you know in ten twenty years from now when people ask you "Where where you when Obama was elected and changed history?" I can say I was here at Oznium talking to all you lovely people! Feel honored. biglaugh.gif

I find it comical that anyone would think that guns would actually be revoked in this country...or the right to carry them.

He did say himself he doesn't support conceal carry... Then he said he's not hear to take folks guns. He was the most liberal senator when it came to guns.

100% revoked and ban firearms, no.
Skyrocketing the taxes on firearms and ammunition to make them unaffordable to the average person, YES!
Removing the right to carry, YES!
Require trigger locks and firearms in safes making it nearly impossible to protect yourself in your own home, YES!

There's more than one way to remove firearms than flat out banning them.

Obama supports an act that would place the blame of any firearm crime back on the store owner that sold the firearm. Basically, if "Big Bubba John" goes out and shoots up a 711 store w/ a firearm bought from "Freddie’s Guns," Freddy is held responsible. This would result in stores closing and no more firearms being sold. Why would someone want to assume the risk of selling a firearm to a potential criminal, even if he has a 100% clean record. Obama wouldn't be "banning" firearms, but he's removing them and destroying the economy at the same time (all of a sudden, Freddy doesn't have a business anymore and no job. Another one that will be on welfare).

But, congratulations to Obama on the LANDSLIDE victory. Hopefully he does a great job and exceeds my expectations. If he does that I might vote for him for a second term.

Which is why nothing will change. The president doesn't just pass bills on his own.

No, he doesn't pass bills, but he can get the ball rolling. Maybe nothing that extreme will change but I would almost guarantee there will be a HUGE tax increase on firearms and ammunition. Say, an increase somewhere in the 500% range.

I'm not going on just opinion here. I'm going off his previous voting and what he has stood for. IMO, Obama's past actions are much greater than someone saying it won't happen.

If I was actually worried bout any of this, I would probably have faith in the house to not pass something that extreme.

I just go with the flow, if something changes then it pretty much never affects me. If it does (nothing ever has so far), I'll find a way around it if it's that important (which it probably won't be).

I really do hate politics biglaugh.gif
