I just looked and noticed that most of these posts are all about how cops are bad, giving people tickets for lighting and whatnot. I don't think all are really that bad. I got pulled over earlier this year for my underglow. I had a 7 color blaze kit. It was on blue at the time, which I thought was legal. Anyhow, i guess because my front tube was facing a little forward, the cop could see it a ways away from the front which is illegal. Anyway, he just told me to turn it off being curious of what was and wasn't legal, I asked him if i changed the color would it be legal. He was like "what?" So i changed through all the colors. He was pretty much amazed. We tlked about cars, lights and stuff for like 15 mins. He told me he liked it, and just to be careful, cause it was vaer attention getting. I was very happy lol biglaugh.gif

You will find a handfull of cops that are just normal average guys but most of the time they're also the ones who will let little stuff go, the majority of the time people are getting busted by the more serious cops that will tag you for most everything (my buddy got hit with a fix-a-ticket for all the non original lights on/in his car... was like 350 buck ticket as well as his tint...)...
Most of the time if the tubes are hidden so the light source is not directly visible most cops won't care BUT there is always a few that will hit you for being parked in a parking lot... so it's always hit or miss...

What I've found is that most cops are pretty easy to get along with. Most of the time they pull you over just as a reason to make sure you're sober, buckled up, etc. It's there job and usually they don't care too much. Occasionally you get the hard ass that's trying to make a point.

I guess living in a small town helps quite a bit too. A lot of my friends and I are on a first name basis with most of the cops. They come by our local hang out (an old bandstand) and will just come and **** with us about stuff.

had a similar thing happen to me with a texas state trooper. Got a fix-it warning for my tail lights not beign bright enough. He didnt' care about the blackouts, underglow or even the strobes. He was a car-nut and i got the impression he was more concerned for my safety than giving out tickets.

i've noticed the smaller the town, the more unique the crusiers. For instance: Shenendoah, Texas (between the woodlands and conroe on I-45) gets a fleet of slicktop Chargers.....of course they also bring in $1.2m in traffic fines a year

i think it's just luck, lol. i took a nice little drive today. six and a half hours down here to harrisburg, pa (where i am now) and had my lights on quite a bit. i mean not on the turnpike or anything ofcourse, but the streets through downtown mechanicsburg and carlisle and all over the backroads i was drivin with my 6 mode on. and if you've watched the ufo commentary by korn and aken you know 6 mode is pretty wild, lol. i prolly passed a state trooper/cop/etc atleast 6-7 times and not a single one did a thing. just keeped drivin by. no flashing lights, no tickets, no tisk tisks. but then again all good luck streaks do come to an end. and i have an unpaid speeding ticket i got in breezewood about a month back i never paid yet so i don't need any cops runnin my plates, haha. o well.

All the cops I've talked to seem to like my under glow. But like everyone has said. It's kinda a luck thing.

It's a little town called Schuyler. It's about 15 miles east of Columbus or 40 mile west of Fremont.

Only once have I ever had a a-hole cop.

He pulled me over saying that I didn't have my seat-belt on. I always wear my seat-belt and I even told him that. He gave me a talk about wearing it and the left me by saying "I had better never catch you without your seatbelt on."

I have only had to deal with a cop once in a traffic situation. I got in a wreck, it was my fault, but I was straight up honest about it and told him it was my fault. He didn't give me a ticket. icon_smile.gif If you see what cops put up with, you can understand why they act like buttholes sometime. I have a lot of respect for the police officers.

They are tenacious up in those parts huh? As part of their procedure, don't they make you get out of the car when they pull you over?

I'm making a habit of going the speed limit. I get better MPG's that way.

I ran into a freaking awesome cop tonight.

It was snowy so I drove up to this huge parking lot at a county park where people do auto cross at. I was doing mad donuts and slides then a car turned our way. My friend started to freak out saying it's the cops. Then he put his lights on.

He pulls up next to us and says "You guys just having fun?" I say yea, then he tells us to be safe.

I was real surprised. I asked him if he didn't mind. He said he didn't mind at all. then he says "Just be carefull though, I'm the old guy on the shift so I don't really care. Just be carefull for all the young ones, they'll probably give you a ticket"

Old cops are sweet!

Niiiiice, I dont see that ever happening to me.
I was once pulled over for my glow in my intrepid, well actually 6 times, But in my glove box i had a printed out packet of all the state laws on lighting for where I'm at. I never not once got a ticket by the first 5, I had showed them the packet and told them I didnt see anything in it as far as it being illegal to have glow on the my car.

then here comes the 6th guy as I was wraping up with a photo shoot as the sun was coming up. He pulls me over and tells me that he is supposed to dismount and destroy my lights, but that he is just going to make a note in the system stating that if I am pulled over again for my lights, that the officer pulling me over is ordered to tow my car, and then have the lights dismounted and destroyed. what an A-Hole that guy was..

it didnt stop me though, I still turned them on every night on my way to work.
I respect cops also, I work with them on a regular basis since they always come to the casino I work Security for (Hard Rock Casino) so I know how to talk to them and dont get too nervous anymore like i used to.

Whats funny is that the pic in my signature is one of the ones that I took right before this cop pulled me over.. as the sun was coming up like I said. lol.
