I just received my SMD lights and it has this tip on each side how can i tell which one is the hot and the ground? I don't see any markings or anything to tell which one is which.
I'm just hooking up one to go in my grille so I think i just have to cut one of those off but like i said I don't see a black and red marker or anything to tell which one is the hot or the ground here is pics

There is a marking on the board itself. Look where the wires connect to the board, that should tell you.

Actually in the pictures you posted you can see the small + and - symbol on the board, but they should be on the ends of the bar as well.

If you reverse the polarity, nothing bad will happen, it just won't light up. Then, flip it around and it should light up.
