Hey all, pretty new to customzing vehicles, although I have always done some cheapo mods(interior lighting, audio, debadging)
Here is my 04 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab. 5 cylinder Vortec engine. Current mods so far(just started this summer) Pioneer head unit(doing speakers in fall) Painted interior trim Debadged the tailgate(still gotta do the doors) Flipped third brake light Clear corner DRLs(doing the headlights in spring) Pics: Pretty much how I got her, had the tint and bug/wind shields and tonneau on it already
How she looks now:
INTERIOR Head unit with PSP mount
Painted interior
Updated paint, I will be adding switches to the right side
I want to add rims and tires, but I am married, own a house, have a child, and working on #2. I don't mind the stocks, but they are starting to get beat. Not as fancy as some of you guys, but I'm working on it. I will be adding some Oz lights soon enough. Last edited by reptileink on Mon Nov 10, 2008 7:26 am, edited 2 times in total |

Welcome dude. Truck looks good. Wheels and a drop will make the biggest impact on the overall look of the vehicle, so put those on your to do list.

I don't plan on dropping it, I live in New England, and the roads here are swiss cheese. Bigger tires are a possibility to fill in the wells

Looks good dude. Don't be upset that your family/house are holding you back; having those are more of an accomplishment than many of us here have!

Hey. Dude. I have a dog. Come on now, gimme some credit here. And welcome to Oz! I'm a new guy, too. I dunno how long you have to be a member here until you lose the "new guy" status, but it's fun from Day 1.

Welcome welcome. Nice truck
When you say "flipped third brake light," did you just remount it upside down or something? |

yup. For some reason on the Colorados, the third brake light didn't flow with the rear window angles, it was opposite. So many of us(owners) flip it over so the lights angles match the rear window. The only thing it really effects is the "bed lights" which don't to much with a tonneau cover anyway...lol |

Throw some kind of black rims on that thing, and it would look x2 better. Love it though.

Yeah, I knew there would be at least one girl here. My apologies and I will change my thread. I plan on doing some black rims, and tinting the front windows come spring |

runs really well actually. The first day I got it, I was cruising on the highway to work and next thing I knew, I was pushing 100
Felt like I was standing still. It's a truck, so the ride isn't always the smoothest, but I do 90% of highway driving every week. Get around 20-23 MPG. Only fill up once a week(6 days the worse) Gets enough pickup if I slam it, but could use a TAD more OOMPH! |

not lowering it. I bought a truck to have a truck. I am aware that as a "sports truck" owner, I am leaglly bound to lowering...lol. If I wanted to drive a car, I would have bought one. I like the little bit of height and clearance. Bigger rims should fill some of the space and give it a lowered appearance.
