Pic posting possibilities

So this might be a completely useless post and waste of time, but I am bored and we scrubbed the workload so I've got some downtime...

I love being able to hop online at work when it's slow and peruse the Oznium boards, but it drives me nuts and a little sad reading about some of y'all's badass mods and updates and funny stories with pictures, only to not be able to see the damn pic's due to photobucket being blocked by gov't computers.

So I'm just throwing this out there - on a lot of the other boards I frequent, they've got their own upload server or whatever. I know you can upload a picture into your gallery then post, but these are completely independent. Just hit the browse button and host your picture. I don't know how complicated this kind of setup it, or if it requires oodles more bandwidth, etc... I just thought I would see if there is a possiblity of this independent host dealio becoming a reality. Especially with det coming up soon, I don't know if I can take 6-months of no Oz pics

ha this forum is so far behind every other 1. good luck convincing somebody here to update this kinda stuff.. we manage pretty well with it as it is that's probably why no1 wants to change it.

i usually try to upload stuff to my own server for this reason...
only bad part about that is, i like to remove the junk from my server about once a year so anyone searching old posts (1yr +) won't be able to see any pictures I post...

My ex liked using cardomain as her photo upload spot but I'd expect it to be blocked as well...

I think with all the options there are for uploading photos that an inline photo upload is not necessary. I know it can be handy at times, but IMO not worth adding it.

Upgrading the forum is simply not a priority. There's a lot of custom work into this one already.

I have no problems with the site atm.

Dude, this has been discussed multiple times in the past. There is too much custom work into this forum to simply upgrade to a new software. Plus vBulletin has way too much nonsense that's not necessary for this board.
