Nevada issues 27 stops; 9 citations and an arrest!

Hi everyone! I just stumbled across the site tonight, wish I'd have seen it long ago.
I live in a small rural Nevada town, and I am well versed in the local laws on aftermarket lighting. I have gotten into a peeing match of sorts with the Mayberry like authorities here. I have been stopped 27 times, written 9 citations, and been arrested once because I have perfectly legal red/white tireflys installed on my valve stems!!!! I just purchased an 8 tube underbody kit to install as well.
I have retained an attorney, and we are filing a federal civil rights complaint against the local authorities.There are way too many details about this whole process to write here. I am going to work on some kind of a blog with all of the info for anybody that might want to follow this case. i will get a link to it when I get it going.

This is the most unbelievable abuse of process, and waste of resources ya'll have ever seen....... So far i have beaten every ticket in court, but they keep stopping me and issuing them to me. An absolutely flagrant case of unprecedented harassment!

If it isn't aginst the law then let them eat your dust.

One would only think that after being stopped 27 times, 9 citations, and arrested once you would turn the lights off. Your lights are obviously getting you attention so it's only a matter of time before they write you speeding tickets or something else.

Thanks coolbam..... it's just the same two deputies who think that just because they wear a badge they get to push ya around. No flippin way am I going to lay down for them.

PwrRngr.... That is exactly what they want me to do. 27 traffic stops in a C5 corvette, and no speeding ticket yet. Why would I submit to the tyrannical musings of a couple of hot shot cops who are completely in the wrong and abusing thier authority. I did just the opposite... I paid a lawyer $15k to do everything in my power to make sure that they can't treat me or anybody else in this manner ever again!!! These guys shouldn't even be allowed to work as security guards! I appreciate your opinion, just don't agree that it's ok to get walked on by the man when I am well within the bounds of the law, and have proven that fact in court 9 times.

What defines harassment? I am sure this qualifies:)

what color were you using? some colors are illegal to have and change from state to state.

Good job.. 15K is a lot, and perhaps not worth it on paper, but beating this and showing them that the law is the law, and they can't make things up and write tickets for things that aren't against the law shows them that not everyone will take things sitting down.

Oh, and BTW tireflys are *** make the tickets worth while and get that underbody kit on ASAP!

i think its great that your fighting back. i have the same problem with lights here in my small town. but after fighting them for i month i just gave in and stopped using blue lights and used green,

but i'm only 17 so not a whole lot i can do

Columbus may see the law different, my Little town see it as illegal. i am still going to fight it. i am gathering up a group of people with glow in my town

I only run white thru Cbus. I don't want to screw with the CPD. As for my town I could care less about cops.

not harrassment if they are writing you citations for the lights....my guess is the tire flies are one when you are moving thus causing a red/white strobe effect as you drive....usually reserved for EMERGENCY vehicles such as ambulances...

I would turn the lights off before you get embarrassed in court by a judge
